i just did some calculations involving the dimensions of citizens bank park, the weight of a baseball, the square root of 856, and some weather trends, and harper should hit about 827 homeruns per year for the next 7 or 8 years.

i wish the jays were in on that, they have the money for it. it's the kind of deal where you pretty much have to just deal with the fact that the first half of the deal will probably be great and the 2nd half will maybe suck. still worth it. watching good players play is fun.

this reminds me, i know a phillies fan that absolutely (frank)ing hates harper. never seen a man hate an athlete that much before. this will be fun.
