Such irony Sens take Stanley cup winners to ECF final and double overtime. They will add high level prospects for next year. The Sens will be very strong next season.

I told you this last year and you embarrassed yourself by not believing me.

So, get ready.

- spatso

Pretty sure you spent last offseason railing about how prospects wouldn't make a huge difference and about how prospect rankings were just "loser lists".

But yea, I embarrassed myself.

Ottawa will not be returning to the playoffs this year, unless they make some drastic moves. A couple of b-level prospects won't be the same as the Leafs icing one of the best rookie groups the NHL has ever seen.

Like when he predicted Duchene.

Unfortunately, that became Stalberg, Wingels and Burrows.

Those were great playoff signings. Sens did not sign a 38 year old for $18m. Hard to believe Leafs going down that road again. Six years older than Phaneuf. Insanity.

Wait what?

You said last year that Matthews nylander marner aren't good enough to make an impact, that the leafs are worse than last year when they finished last.

But somehow now the sens have high level prospects they're adding that will make them better.....weird how last year the leafs high end elite prospects they added weren't going to do anything and now sens b level prospects are going to make a difference.

Sounds like some high level summer talk.

Only person here that should be embarassed is you..... Chabot drafted 2015 born Jan 1997, Dermott a year older at dec 1996 and a a different draft class in 2015. Duh.

Oops, sorry thought Draisaitl was sent down before 25 games in previous year.

Leafs cap is fine. They have robidas and lupul off after this year, they get relief from buyouts after 2years.

Marleau contract is easily trade able in the third year, to a team looking to not pay actual salary but have the cap hit.

They have one of the best capologist in the business working for them.

They're fine.

Therefore, using your "leaf logic" Dion's contract is even better, perhaps even great.

Thanks for that.

Should we be surprised? This moron arguing with me about dermott, said he was a year older and a different draft year than chabot even though they were born a little over a month apart and in the same draft year.

This idiot has no clue about anything regarding hockey. Totally clueless.

How is that using my logic? You should work on using basic logic before trying to force feed someone else's logic.

Dion contract so good they tried to dump him repeatedly this summer.

Leafs out from under that boat anchor, enjoy that for several more years.

Insanity. And that Bobby Ryan contract? That will be there too. Insanity.

You know when the Leafs win a cup and Ottawa is still sitting at 0, he'll be first in line for the parade, pretending he was a fan all along, try desperately to convince himself it's true.
- Feeling Glucky?

Need to win that cup in the next two seasons, because when Matthews needs a new contract, they'll have to break up the team to pay him.

When are they going to find the Cap space to bring in 2 or 3 quality D Men, in the next two seasons, as the Marleau cap hit is preventing that from happening???? Are they planning on the Cap going 10 Million for next season?

Just a quick look at the leafs cap for next season, they're already over the cap by $1.68 Million, and have yet to sign a couple of RFAs.

So it looks like the leafs "window" is in the process of closing, unless LL can pull a rabbit out of his ass.

They're not out from under the Marleau anchor.......... an anchor that cannot be taken off the books for three seasons.

No one is going to trade for him, as you suggested, when he's 40 freaking years old ............. besides, he has a COMPLETE NMC in his contract.

Marleau's anchor of a contract makes Dion's look like a Helium filled balloon!.

Let me walk you through this. Marleau is going to play for two seasons, and personally I think he'll fit in well. He'll retire the summer before the last season of his contract begins, unless you truly believe he is going to play for 1 mil over the last season. His contract will then be traded to a bottom feeding cap floor team like Arizona or Ottawa or Vegas. Teams that will benefit from a high cap hit with zero payout.

And if he doesn't retire, then the Leafs don't resign Bozak or JVR and slide in players like Kapanen and Bracco for less money and ride out the last season of his 6 mil cap hit.

Need me to break that down even further?
