Apparently, since he made the right call.

Or maybe the doctors that checked him out pre-draft said there was a high probability that he'd see further issues.

...which he did.

It's almost like you can use past and current data to draw conclusions about future events.

Stone is well on his way.

From Jan 1st 2015 through to the end of the last season, Stone was top three or four in points in entire NHL.

I have him as a star forward ,but he could vault upwards for sure.He is really our 2nd best player

The draft in general,Ottawa can draft we all see this ,i also believe Toronto now can as well .But even the best looking prospect can fall flat on their face we have both seen it

Tell me, where do you go to pull "season and a half" stats, so that you can actually make this argument?

Also, do you know which site I can use to cherry pick a streaky player's peaks, and compare them against other player's high streaks, to draw a definitive list of which streaky players streak the best?

Sounds a lot like what I've been saying. Toronto can spend, Ottawa can't.

Ottawa is making moves to "win now", at the expense of the future and cap space, while reducing actual cost.

They're actually going out of their way to ensure they can't spend later.

- Feeling Glucky?

Not too bright eh? Brassard is going to cost them less money, for the next three season (10 million total) than keeping Zbad for the same three years.

This cost saving will be used to sign Hoffmann, for more than one year.

So that blows your "can't spend later" theory right out of the water.

Math is not your forte ......... eh?

WOW again showing you total lack of knowledge of Ottawa and the Senators .............. calling Mark Stone a "streaky" player.

2014 -15 64 points
2015 -16 61 points

yeah that's the definition of "streaky" if there ever was one.

Well, trading picks in lateral/cash dump moves isn't gonna help.

I'd rather have Schenn, Tlusty and Pogge than Zubov, Elliot and Winchester (or some other forward).

Not saying the Leafs have an astronomically better prospect pool but I think they do win that one and will likely have an even better pool by the end of the year if they sell off assets, sink in the standings and draft at least one player in the top 10.

- Leafer_84

I'd rather have Schenn for sure, but I'd say its a wash with the others. They really haven't proven anything in the minors, or shown that they are going to be impact NHL players. Really both prospect pools are pretty weak and thin. Abundance of 3rd/4th liners 4-6 dman (expect Schenn, Karlsson, and maybe Lee), and two average goaltenders who both are expected to be starters in the NHL but haven't come close to reaching that level yet. I think the deals that Heately and Spezza are on and their age tips it in Ottawa's favor, but after this years draft that may change.

Didn't see people shying away from calling Kessel streaky, when his season by season totals were incredibly consistent... hmmmm

So, anyways...

You've still not answered the questions:
1)Where do you see a middling, budget team like Ottawa acquiring top end talent
2) What site do you use to pull season and a half numbers?

Meh Zibby promised much more than he delivered,so rather than give him a contact that will likely be because of where and who he plays with in the line up rather than actual skill level .Next season we decided to cut bait now ,with both White and Brown looking like to be pretty solid center ice prospects. Its on to the next kid.As for the 2nd i dont really care about a maybe player that will likely make his debut 6 seasons from now .We can trade for another later if things go south

Brassard is actually pretty good but I still don't understand why Ottawa had to give a 2nd in that deal. Similar offensive production and Zibby is younger, a 1 for 1 deal would've been fair value imo. It's a head scratcher.

You got older, no better, higher cap hit (lower salary) and gave up a 2nd to do it. Makes no sense.

It more of an exit from Zibby. While tryiNg to develop what we truely need ,which is a number 1 center.Hopefully one of White or Brown can make the jump.Because they now have three years before we start calling on them .Cant just draft players without making some sort on transition plan into actually see them play in the nhl .

I guess Burke and the Leafs medical team were wrong about him. Must be a fantastic draft choice.

Wish we hadn't gotten suckered into drafting a top-6 center.

Oh I know, but he would go a few games without getting goals(still putting up points), and got labeled as streaky... Even though his season end totals remained consistent.

I guess a guy who needs to have only 1.5 seasons looked at to look more than average should probably be given the same treatment, no?

It's what I love about their pomposity. Makes it look that much funnier when they're inevitably proven wrong.

The leafs were tricked into taking the player they were going to take in the first place. That is some magic witchcraftery.
