went to a PHO restaurant tonight for first time.

it's glorified won ton soup that is impossible to eat with the chopsticks and the white spoon thing. (frank) it.


also I was observing some vietnamese woman a few tables away to figure out her technique. then towards the end of dinner i heard her talking to the waiters in Vietnamese and I realized she was the last person to give me a haircut. then i had to wave and say hello when she saw me. it was awkward. I was actually thinking about making an appointment with her next week (always do walk-ins) because her small talk is usually fun and in broken english.

now i realize not only can i not do that, but im not sure i can ever go to that barbershop again for the rest of my life.

I think you should have ordered the Pho with Rare Beef & let the beef cook in the soup. You also could have went to a bad Pho place. White people should love pho. They do in Toronto!

i got brisket which was good and meatballs which had a disgusting texture. i mean it was tasty overall with the broth and noodles but it was just a goddamn chore to navigate. only finished half and it took me like an hour to do even that...and i felt like it was all over my face by the end

a good broth is very greasy and the oils definitely get all of your face and in your shirt and the smell lingers

Rare beef is better than the brisket and meatballs - try that next time, if you do give it another go. Submerge the rare beef under the noodles to let the soup cook it.

Use chopsticks + spoon. Use the chopsticks to get the noodles on the spoon!

They also give you a small bowl with the big bowl so you can transfer noodles into the small bowl so its easier to eat. THey do this for asian people too.
