today I went to this new poutine place that opened up. It fancies itself a fancy place but it's really just a fast food joint anyway you pick your type o fries from a few and whatever the (frank) you want on what supposedly is a poutine.

as a tribute to you fags I took the Philly with steak, peppers, shrooms and onions and some sauce.


it was pretty gross.

Homemade chicken soup.

I used barley to give the soup some body instead of noodles like my wife suggested. Homerun but she still didnt like it. Thoughts?

1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
3/4 tsp. Heinz ketchup
1/4 tsp. kosher dill pickling brine
1 pinch cayenne pepper

Put all ingredients in a small mixing bowl and stir until well combined. Sauce will keep, covered, in the refrigerator for up to one week.

it said spicy pickle brine, dont have spicy pickle so i used a half a table spoon of peperoncini oil with the pickle brine

smoked paprica instead of cayenne

burgers were home made but i had some fries too, which i get from a local diner.
it's run by these 2 old greek dudes. they're there 14 hours a day, 7 days a week. i don't understand how they're still alive. they've been doing this for over 20 years.
one mans the meats (hot dogs and whatnot). one mans the fries. they don't talk. they don't smile. it's the best customer service experience you can ask for.

i walk in. i say medium fry to go. he rings me up without a word, points to the display on the cash to let me know how much i owe him. i pay. he turns around, puts the fries in the deep fryer. when they're ready he puts them in a bag. i say thanks. he taps the counter twice, gives me a wink and pinches a hole in the brown paper bag so i can sneak some fries on my short drive back home.

edit: there used to be a 3rd old greek dude but he's either retired or dead. he had no teeth. he would yell "hot dog" if you ordered a hot dog. but that's it.
