so i don't really know what's in this area as far as a good hoagie shop. i know there's a gaetano's (which is a chain around here mostly known for their cheesesteaks apparently) but i tried their hoagie months ago and it tasted like the hoagies you'd get from the high school cafeteria. i think there was swiss cheese in it for (frank)'s sake.

anyway, i found a lee's hoagie house less than 2 miles away. i've heard their commercials on the radio so i figured i'd go try it out.

it was an okay hoagie although i wasn't fond of whatever ham they're using.

the roll was a breath of fresh air (crims), but it was far from perfect. this was no carmen's (watson and skip).

so, that's the story of my lunch.

i did stop at wawa for 20 more ounces of quality wawa coffee.

i think this was my first experience with them.

i may have had one from the washington township location like 15 years ago but i don't remember.

i take it they started in the city? i'm sure this lee is a good guy but i'd really like to have a sit down with him regarding the ham.

soft rolls but still good.

i wont get the turkey there anymore though

2lbs of venison back straps.
cut into 6" lengths then slice long ways 1/4" thick (easier when semi frozen)
place in 9x14 baking tray
Mix together in separate bowl:
1/2 cup Worcester
1/4 cup Soy sauce
1 tbs jack daniels barb.sauce
2 tbs franks hot sauce
1 tbs liquid smoke
1/2 tsp of each: Garlic powder,black pepper,onion powder

pour over meat and stir. Let it sit over night in the fridge.
Place on wire cooling racks sprinkle with coarse black pepper
and set in oven at 150 deg.
Leave oven door open aprox. 1-2"
After 3 hrs turn pcs over. remove from oven 2-3 hours later.
place in zip lock sandwich bags and hide them from friends and family.

i did notice the roll was soft. it was also flat. like thin.

i was just comparing the roll to wawa as a joke back there specifically for you because i consider us close friends that know everything about one another.


tell me more about your experience with the turkey.

and also why you would go to a place like that and order the turkey hoagie. especially when you call yourself an italian.

made chicken soup from scratch over the weekend.


Was (frank)ign awesome, especially with the weather up here.

Gonna try making chinese bbq pork soon. That poop's addictive, but since moving downtown, I can't find a place nearby with really good bbq pork. It's mainly north american-ized chinese food.

They (frank)ing use (frank)ing ketchup on the outside.

Any more and it gets bitter. Works ok with the jack daniels. and 2lbs.

we pass one of those lee's every time we go thrifting out there. we always wondered if it was any good. has a really classic dump look to it.
