salad(cucumber, red pepper, tomato, onion, olive oil, lemon)
bread pudding made from croissants & cherry jam
green grapes

for breakfast I' thinking ham&egg cups w/emmental ... and a side of guacamole

for lunch, large planked crab cakes, on a grilled Kaiser(couldn't find chiabatta buns) with a tzatiki topping, boston lettuce, roma tomatoes, with a sprig of dill and a green onion for decoration. Pan-made fries on the side.

I make the tzatiki is made with Kefir, lemon juice from half a lemon, some dill, chili pepper, shredded/finely chopped cucumber, and finely chopped mint.

The Kefir is good? I want to make it but I'm thinking fermented milk might not go over well with certain people I live with...not to mention I don't own any cows.

Kefir is basically a stronger tasting, more liquid yogurt... you can find it in any middle eastern store


here are some rough measurements if you want to make that tzatiki... 1 1/2 cup kefir, juice from half a lemon, a teaspoon of chopped mint, a teaspoon of chopped dill, a finely chopped chili pepper, a small english cucumber, 2 cloves minced garlic.

because the chili is in a yogurt and cucumber mix, it's not gonna be very spicy, it'll just leave a little bit of heat in the mouth... it's more there for flavor... I'm considering putting in more tomorrow...

just mix it all together, and I'd let it sit for a while in the fridge... 1 hour at least before eating, and I'd guess for best results make it at lunch for dinner... but I also wouldn't leave it much longer than that

I live in the Kentucky part of PA so no, I can't get it, at least not readily...but if you want hog maw that's not a problem .

Romanians have a dish called slănínă ... it's basically pure pork fat attached to the hide still... sliced in a thin criss-cross pattern, still attached to the hide, and grilled or smoked


some of the best artery clogging goodness you can have

you know... if you want a substitute for Kefir, you can try mixing butter milk with yogurt...1 part milk to 3 parts yogurt... not sure how it will turn out... seems like it would give a similar taste.

it's not too different than yogurt though... feel free to substitute yogurt for kefir in any recipe
