I have two coffees every morning and on fridays i have two coffees and one energy drink

people eat it like a salad around here. (i eat it until there is sweat under my eyes from the vinegar)

but i just googled and sure enough it actually specified that people in chicago use it as a condiment.

i can't wait to put it on a cheese steak or something now.

The oil is key. They have the vinegar types and they are used more as a salad type of thing. If its packed in olive oil, its almost exclusively a condiment.

if anyone over the age of 11 requests ketchup on their hotdog i not only de-friend them immediately, i make sure to say things that are so awful that they can never be taken back. that way the de-friending is irreversible.

I couldn't have said any better. When I took my oldest to a hot dog stand after she turned 12, I told her if you ask for ketchup, I will disown you.

Montreal-style hotdogs(steamed) are quite the delicious treat.
The classic way it is served is "moutarde-chou". with, obv, mustard and a coleslaw that is just right, not too vinegary. Some people add relish and/or finely chopped onions, but I order it moutarde-chou.
The whole thing is so soft, it just melts in your mouth (code).

Here it is from my favorite place, Montreal Pool-Room. An iconic venue in the red light district held by some polish guys since it's inception in 1912.
