I have no problem with the "originality" of Avatar.
I just found it uninteresting. All the 3D bullpoop is just icing to cover a not very good cake.

I thought it was a well done movie even without the 3d...

the thing is, the top movies this year-in terms of likelihood to win the top award- were all based on the performances and the way they looked... because in terms of story, most were pretty weak.

I honestly think Up, Inglorious, and District 9 had the most well-crafted stories. Though I haven't seen Precious, A Serious Man, or the blind side... which just struck me as a lame feel-good movie from the trailers.
