I can tell you that almost everyday we intercept Russian fighters in nothern canada testing our radar system. Never trust the russians.

The lost jobs would not even come close in the economic impact that 660 billion dollars a year can do for a nation. I think most people would be for it the unemployment would be minor. Besides these are Defense companies not related to the United states government. These people would still be employed ...just making bombs for china ,russia and others.

what are you talking about?

First of all, the F-35 and F-22 serve different roles. The 22 is a air-superiority fighter, like the F-16, while the 35 is a fighter/attacker, like the F-18. The F-35 is also a more modern plane with much more advanced technology. Not to mention it's the first fighter realistically capable of using directed energy weapons.

For a smaller military like Canada's, a multipurpose fighter is far more beneficial than a strict air-superiority fighter. That's why Canada didn't want to buy F-22s.
