now that i think about it, i guess the italians, spaniards, and portuguese also ended up doing great things with the olives as well as the tomatoes while the apparently-learning-disabled greeks just concentrated on that one olive. sure they later integrated feta cheese as a second ingredient, but by then the rest of the world was well on their way with cheese as well.
