i did this at your suggestion and i'm glad i did. a little too hot for me, but a very good taste.
i will definitely try the gin you suggested as i am a gin drinker from way back.

They make another variety called Mt Tam, which I don't recommend. They distill pine into it, it's very - distinctive. But this stuff I can drink straight. |

Ah, no Dry Rye... I can def see why it looks that way, but its gin basically because its a clear distiller liquor with juniper berries. Whiskey has to be aged in oak, gives it the color and flavor. |

Yeah, so basically... With some exceptions, Liquor is liquor. Technically, most liquor at a certain proof point is actually vodka you do something to... For gin you add juniper berries. For whiskey you age it in white oak barrels (usually charred). There are also differences in what they're made of traditionally, but those aren't hard and fast rules. |

i'm lost. what i meant to ask back there was if you'd tried the bulleit bourbon and what you thought of it. looks like the rye but with a red label or maybe orange.
EDIT: got it. you were talking about the gin. forgive me. i am a drunk and a drug addict. i was talking about the bulleit. |

Oh, there's a red label gin by the same company that's made with rye, my bad - got confused.
Yah, the red label stuff if pretty good. Try Breckenridge bourbon, if you're leaning that way. |
