i am excited to announce that i picked up the tullamore dew. i was told to just get bushmills because it's cheaper but this was on sale for just a few bucks more so i bought it.
i am more excited to announce that i finally got the speyburn scotch that i was after for quite some time.
i will report back on this report with my findings later this evening. |

i know you guys are interested.
i am trying the speyburn 10 now and it is very good for a $28 bottle of scotch. extremely easy to drink. hardly any of that smoke that i despise.
it is probably the least smoky scotch i have ever had. a little heat at the end but really no smoke.
i will definitely buy this again. it is a single malt for like $5 more than the blended famous grouse that i drink. 10 times smoother too.

We are oil and water on scotches. I like to feel like I'm drinking a campfire, personally. |

okay, this irish whiskey is going to be the one that puts me under ground.
there's no smoke and no heat to irish whiskey, apparently.
it's definitely a much different taste than scotch or bourbon but it goes down like water too. much thinner taste but it's good.
it took me all of 3 sips to acquire a taste for it. it's sweet. i think i taste walnuts or something. can't put my finger on it.
tomorrow i am going back to buy a bottle of the speyburn as a gift and i'm gonna pick up the bushmills while i'm there but then i seriously have to stop spending money (although i did notice some porters and pumpkin beers in the store today...).
i'll be in rehab in no time if this is gonna be this easy to drink. |

i think the bulleit i had was rye.
but that one was harsh to me.
i mean, i finished it and all don't get me wrong. but i wouldn't buy that one again.
their bourbon intrigues me.. |

i'm not opposed to trying other ryes.
i just meant the bulleit one. i'll drink it at a bar or someone's house but i wouldn't buy a whole bottle of it again.
i don't know if they're all that harsh. and i might just be a wuss because i clearly seem to like smooth whisky and scotch with less smoke to it. |

will it be too harsh for me?
i'm guessing after tomorrow i'm like 4 months out from being able to afford another bottle of anything anyway. but i can add it to my spread sheet.
i didn't really like their bourbon though. i felt like i was drinking unleaded gasoline. |

omg, dave i am in love with this irish whiskey.
nfph probably thinks i'm a femme but i can't wait to get the bushmills and try that tomorrow. i am reading that it's even smoother than this tullamore dew.
this might be my new jam. this and that scotch from earlier. i am very happy with the way today went.
and i am never happy with the way my days go. |
