It's definitely not something you could think about a lot, lol.

It's mainly slapstick humour... there's nothing clever about 40 seconds of "ssssss, ahhhhh, ssssss, ahhhhh" while holding your knee... It's a funny show, no doubt, but it's not on the same level as South Park, Archer, old Simpsons, or the original Futurama... not even close.

Side note: season premiere of Futurama had a couple of great nods to the internet fan-base

Honestly since you like DS9, South Park and BSG I'm pretty sure you're very susceptible to indoctrination and would put down at least fifty dollars that within ten years you will be in some strange cult.

there was barely a mention on yahoo about the fact that the US government will soon be allowing the use of unarmed drones to monitor suspected criminals and to act as surveillance of the streets to ensure safety.

Seth McFarlane is really good at making people feel the show is clever by throwing 1001 references at you every episode, and making it seem like it's a commentary on other media... when in reality, they can only think up 5-10 minutes worth of material, and need to throw in all the references as filler.

I like it more for the observational comedy. Stuff like pronouncing the h in whip. I don't like South Park for any reason and I think that show just became popular due to good timing.
