When I read this I thought it happened quite recently. When I looked up Arabic articles, it turns out it happened in November. There's also video of an interview with the father, and the big Arabic media never reported on it.

I was born and raised there. My city is a four-hour drive from the Kuwaiti border and we got bombarded constantly when I was just a baby.

We're not too fond of Wahabis in my hometown, they preach against us for being different. The government had my uncle tortured to death as well in 1970.

It's always been a mess that only exploded in 1979 after the Great Mosque Siege and the Iranian Revolution. Some had hope that things would get better, hailing every incremental piece of "progress" as change and kissing the monarchy's ass and cradling the balls of wahabi clergy. I don't have hope and I'm not sticking around because I want to truly live.

i think he means the posts at the bottom of the page that say "deleted post". there are three of them at the bottom of the last full page.

you might be able to see them or something. that's one thing i don't understand at all, the "deleted post" posts. and they always say they were from new years eve 1969, which seems almost impossible.
