This comment tends to do with the first few pages of this thread (I couldn't stomach reading them all) but is also about any Isles thread in general. So many supposed Islander fans do nothing but whine, complain, b!tch, moan, and lambast Wang, Snow, Capuano, Goring, Nassau, and 1/2 of the players (not to mention past players and GMs, which I might add is beyond ridiculous). To those people who do that and then complain about free agents not wanting to sign on LI/the team being seen as a joke around the league, it is important to realize that you are also a cause of the very problem you complain about. If you don't realize other fans, players, media, etc. read what is written by Islanders fans and have a good laugh then you need start to. And don't use the excuse you pay money for tickets so you have the right to complain, it is your own fault for buying them in the first place. If you go to a restaurant and have a sh!tty meal, you don't keep going back to the same restaurant over and over, continually ordering meals that are continually sh!tty, just so you can complain. Lastly, sorry to the fans that don't do this, it was just a commentary on a chunk of the fan base that make the rest of us look like fools. That is all. Go Islanders!

A) I am just as passionate about the Islanders as most other Islander fans are (as I'm sure you are) and I am equally frustrated that progress for them seems to take extra long...and has bizarre obstacles.
B) I didn't call you out. I made a general comment about a minority of the fan base.
C) I never said anyone was being mean, my point was more that they are being ridiculous and embarrassing, especially in regards to themselves.
D) Just like you, I am entitled to my opinion and the option to post it.

I don't get offended at all. Sorry everyone is reacting so defensively/sarcastically to what i said. We get it...Rolston is useless, Pandolfo does not have much use, Marty Reasoner is having a complete dud of a season (although it should have been a good signing, on paper he was an ideal 4th line center who could fill in on 3rd). But what's with all the Garth bashing? He is locking up all our strong players (JT, FN, MM, KO, and I'm somewhat confident PAP will too), he got us a goalie who's having a killer season for free (and signed cheap), not to mention MM and PAP were free, and the system is nicely stocked. We don't know the budget he is operating under and you can't blame Wang if he is keeping the budget frugal because he's losing hundreds of millions of dollars so far. I think they at least deserve a fair grade for growing the team (albeit slowly) into a contender with what they have.

okay people...especially all you hardcore gonna defend the Leafies to ur dying breath no matter how bad they stink ones.....let's take a brief 3 year history lesson now shall we.....3 years ago....late in the year, with the season already lost...the leafs go on a huge tear down the last few weeks of the season. Leaf fans, Burke, and Wilson all start spewing the koolaid about how they've turned the corner heading into a new year and next year will be an "improved and competative" leafs team. The team has the worst PK in the NHL, and the owrst goaltending /defensive numbers in the league as well....

2 years ago....the new and "improved Leafs" eliminated by Christmas time, once again go on an almighty tear in garbage time. Again they suck proverbial AZZ on PK, defence and goalie stats....yet Here's BOTH Burke and Wilson extolling the virtues of an ever younger, improved team that'll get em next year.....

Last year....with the team all but completely retooled under Burke's watch...again is all but eliminated by Christmas time, yet give the illusion of being "competative" and "improved" by going lights out with NO PRESSURE down the stretch in garbage time led by again another hot goalie in Reimer. Aagain they're right near the worst of the worst in PK, goals against and general defensive play DESPITE a completely new defence from 2 years earlier....

This year....a couple of good hot streaks early have the team hanging around a playoff spot. Difference thou from all the previous ones is that garbage time "means something this year" Suddenely the as Burke put it the last 2 years "best team in hockey down the stretch" can't win to save themselves.....again anchored down by bad goaltending AND sh#t PK and even worst defence......

all BUrke has done is convinced himself thru 3 years of lights out garbage time NO PRESSURE success, is his team is better then it actually is.....and this is BAD real REAL BAD for fans of TDOT. He extended the main cause for the Leafs suckage...Wilson, rewarding him for NOTHING but players playing for contracts anyways in nothing time with nothing on the line, and is poised to throw away EVERYTHING he's built for the sake of 2 measley playoff dates. Schenn, Colbourne, your 1st, Gunnerson (by far your most consistent Dman), maybe Gardiner are all in play for any big name that any GM will offer up.....all because Burke is too blind and stupid to Fire wilson and rebuild properly.....and mostly cause "Leaf nation" demands a playoff series" even though this team is nowhere near ready for one....If they're choking this bad with the pressure just to hang onto 8th, what happens when Burke throws away the future for a 4 game sweep against the rangers????

I have lost my faith in my burke - rosehill and boyce waived? Thats 75% of our toughness gone that you know will not be replaced with anything! We are now officially the softest team in the nhl/ahl .. I feel a jvr mistake coming on or even worse getting an unproven goalie who doesnt help at all... his judgement isnt the same as yrs prior.. ie: he kept and insanely resigned Wilson who has done nothing and who is also the worst thing to happen to that locker room since the 80s. The team obviously doesnt play for his passion-less ass anymore. But unfortunetly for us fans it seems wilson will be here for next yr too so he can make us fail in the winter classic..

I cant take this underachieving crap anymore - do they actually want to win?!? .. Im as close as i have ever been to not supporting the leafs as much as i have.. Why should i keep investing my money and time in this one way relationship! The real problem here is why dont people want to play here in toronto - we never get the big names -- why not?? Burke was supposed to get us quality veteran pieces like pronger etc... All he gets us are longshots and prospects, never anyone established.. Thats why i dont feel nash or parise or stall or anyone with potential to be a bonafide 1st liner will ever be on the leafs.. I have a bad feeling about this deadline, i think were losing people for nothing/crap/americans in return..
