1. Will and should the Rangers use their final amnesty buyout on Brad Richards? YES
2. Did Brian Boyle price himself out of the Rangers budget with another fine playoff performance? Which is the real Brian Boyle, the one from the playoffs or regular season or are both pieces the true Boyle? POSSIBLE BUT HE CLAIMS HE WANTS TO REMAIN THERES A HOMETOWN DISCOUNT- 4 YEARS 10m
3. Can the Rangers afford not to bring back Anton Stralman? Are you willing to go six years at $4.5 mil per to keep him? YES, 4YRS FOR 14m
4. Mats Zuccarello was the Rangers best and most consistent forward all season, for how many years and at what amount do you re-sign him? SIGN HIM NOW 3YRS 10M AND LET HIM KNOW HIS PAY IS COMING ONCE RICK NASH IS GONE.
5. Do you offer Derick Brassard arbitration and go year-to-year or try and sign him to a longer-term deal? NOT SURE HE IS WORTH MUCH MORE THAN HE'S MAKING NOW. 2YRS 7M
6. With back-to-back playoff stinkers, can you place any reliance on Rick Nash? Based on the response, can he be part or a key component moving forward or does he need to be dealt? HIRE A MENTAL COACH TO TEACH HIM TO LET OUT HIS EMOTIONS......a little!
7. Did we see enough from John Moore to believe he is scratching the surface and has room to grow? If so, what type of deal do you offer him now? HE CAN BE TAUGHT TO BE AS VERSITALE AS MCD. BUT WITH A BETTER SHOT. 2YRS 3.5M
8. How good can Chris Kreider be and will his "defensive and hockey intelligence limitations" prevent him from reaching true sniper status? THIS MAN/CHILD IS GOING BE A BEAST DEAL WITH IF SOMEONE COULD TEACH HIM CONSISTANCY. 3YRS 7.5M
9. With Marc Staal's deal expiring after next season, do you try and lock him up now? Did he show enough during the season and in the playoffs to view him as a top-three defenseman or will the eye injury always limit his upside future potential? I THOUGHT HE WAS BEST DMANN THE PLAYOFFS IN PHILLY, PITT AND PART OF MONTREAL. THE KINGS MADE EVERYONE LOOK BAD,EXCEPT STRALMAN! IM KEEPING STAAL FOR 4YRS - 14M
10. Did his playoff performance provide enough assurance that Derek Stepan is or can be a true #1 center? Does his lack of size and speed, especially when compared to Kopitar and Carter, solidify the view that the Rangers need to acquire a big, scoring center to fill that role? NO. 2ND OR 3RD LINE. HE'S NOT GETTING MUCH MORE THAN WHAT HE MAKES NOW. MAYBE TRADE BAIT!
11. Based on 10, does NY have to try and sign Paul Stastny? Trade for Jason Spezza or Eric Staal? Or acquire another "top" center to maximize the lineup talent? YES. NOT THORTON, NOT SPEZZA. YOUNGER FASTER LIKE STASNEY, RYAN O'REILLY OR RYAN JOHANSEN. WOULD BE NICE IF SOMEONE ON THE FARM WOULD POP UP!
11. How many years and how much money should the team offer Benoit Pouliot as an RFA? 2YRS FOR 3.75M
12. What type of deal should they offer Dominic Moore? Would you go more than one year? 2YRS FOR 3.25M
13. Should New York look to bring back either Justin Falk or Raphael Diaz? DIAZ. 1.5M
14. If Daniel Carcillo would cost similar dollars to this year's contract, do you bring him back? Is Derek Dorsett alone, with no Carcillo back up, sufficient for the fourth line? YES. CARBOMB DID HIS JOB EVERY TIME ON ICE. 1YR 1.5M
15. Should the Rangers look to extend Carl Hagelin now rather than waiting? Which was the real Hagelin, the one who struggled at times during the year or one who excelled in the playoffs? WAIT AND SEE
16. Did Dan Girardi's struggles, especially against LA, make you worried that New York overpaid, either in years or dollars? HE WAS EXPOSED BADLY AND SHOULD BE TRADE BAIT, MAYBE WITH STEPAN FOR FRONT LINE CENTER.SEE YA DAN
17. Can JT Miller be a regular on this team next year and in the future? Can Oscar Lindberg, Jesper Fast, Ryan Hagerty, Anthony Duclair or Dylan McIlrath earn a spot on next year's squad? TIMES UP! MCILRATH BETTER BRING IT THIS CAMP ALONG WITH JT MILLER. AND IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE SOME YOUTH STEP UP. EVERYONE ELSES YOUTH DOES!
18. Do the Rangers have enough to win the Stanley Cup, even with making the right moves this offseason, or will the West always have the edge? CLOSE BUT NOT YET
19. Which free agents would you target? STASNEY, LARS ELLER, MATT NISKANEN, WILLIE MITCHELL, RYAN CALLAHAN, SHAWN THORTON, BUT MUST SERIOUSLY CONSIDER THE FOLLOWING RFA'S, RYAN OREILLY, RYAN JOHANSEN, JACOB SILVERBERG, JAMIE MCGINN, BRADEN SCHENN. NEED TALENT AND THE FREE AGENT CLASS DOESN'T HAVE MUCH TO OFFER.
20. Who would you look to trade? GIRARDI, STEPAN, KRISTO MAYBE TALBOT IF SOMEONE BIGTIME WAS COMING BACK.

I think you're being too generous. I think he's a bottom pairing dman making nearly the most money in hockey. I can't recall other dmen making mistakes, but I have seen first hand Dion making them. I'm glad he had to go on national t.v. to apologize for his ill timed pinch against Boston in the playoffs. I can't believe he's gotten away with it for so long. I mean you see all the time players having to go on national t.v. to apologize for mistakes they made in the game.
It's because of Darren Dreger being Nonis' brother or father or roommate (I can't remember) that Dion has got away with it.
Typical Leafs fans complain that Dion has only played with Gunnarsson, Aulie, Kostka, Schenn, Franson and Komisarek. Well guess what Weber was stuck with Suter, Keith stuck with Seabrook, Doughty stuck with Muzzin, Chara stuck with Hamilton, Pietrangelo stuck with Bouwmeester so Dion should do just as well.
I blame the Leafs organization, who are, in general, evil and don't give anything back to the NHL. There really should.be a system in place where the Leafs, with all the money they have, have to give to some of the smaller franchises that give tickets away for free. Just my two cents. - walshyleafsfan |
