All that, and still not even close to a playoff team.

I wonder if you would say the 06 leafs, that went 9 wind in their last 11 games, was a good team.

Taking 21 points out of 24, in their last 12 games is blowing?

OH OH ......... they beat Montreal twice in those 12 games.

Also, where did I mention age, I was pointing out that they were all Ottawa draft picks.

Montreal looks like easy pickings for a first round upset.

Montreal is getting routinely beat by teams that currently are not in the playoffs, and which ever wild card they face, should they win their division, will be licking their chops at the prospect of facing the habs.

Out of curiosity, does that make these non playoff teams like the sens happy?

The most brainless of send fans talking smack, about whoever the eighth seed is, looking forward to playing the one seed. While sens fans have tuned out because their team is gone.

It was pretty crappy watching the Leafs rocket all the way to 9th or 10th place year after year.

Yeah it was way more fun watching the Senators make the playoffs 16 times in the past 20 seasons or so, and all the way to the Finals in 2007.

Participant banners!

It was pretty fun wathcing the Leafs spank the Sens in those years too. And by spank, I mean humiliate. Every time. No exceptions.

Meh, if he's going to bring up those years, why not?

I don't get why they would though. That shouldn't be fond memories for them.

THOMAS KABERLE
ALEX STEEN
KYLE WELLWOOD
ALEXEI PONIKAROVSKI
NIK ANTROPOV
MATT STAJAN
IAN WHITE
CARLO COLAIACOVO
LUKE RICHARDSON
JEREMY WILLIAMS
MIKHAEL TELQVIST

THEY WERE ALL DRAFTED AND DEVELOPED BY THE LEAFS AND THEY WERE THE BESTEST AND REGARDLESS OF WHETHER SOME OF THEM WEREN'T VERY GOOD LIKE JEREMY WILLIAMS THEY WERE DRAFTED AND DEVELOPED BY THE LEAFS SO THAT MEANS THAT THE LEAFS HAD A BRIGHT FUTURE AND WERE WELL ON THEIR WAY TO WINNING LOTS OF CUPS LIKE A DYNASTY ONLY THE LIKES OF WHICH CAN BE REPEATED BY THE OTTAWA SENATORS WITH THEIR AMAZING ROSTER OF SUPERSTARS.

Nope. It's a list of primarily mediocre NHLers, fit for middle line duty.

Just like the list Dopps posted.

A lot of those guys were reasonably highly touted at that time too. Steen and Wellwood were both rookies that season, and were top 10 in rookie scoring, in a year that had two years worth of rookies breaking in.

I guess you have tons of faith in the leafs drafting abilities now, as that is the route they say they're going to follow in this "complete scotched earth re-build".

Coach Peter Horachek was asked moments later about Kessel’s take, and how he can get the players to get that attitude turned around into something positive.

“We’re playing the best game in the world and still getting paid pretty good money to do it,” Horachek said.

“They have to take that into consideration. Suck it up and let’s go. Because you are not winning the game, let’s do something about it. Let’s win the game. Let’s play and be focused for 60 minutes. Let’s make sure we are all ready to play within the confines of our structure and play with passion. Let’s do those things. They’re getting paid pretty good money.”

The Leafs have one in win in their past 21 road games. They were blanked in western Canada, and lost the three games while giving up a total of 14 goals and scoring just five.
