Those are the years you brought up.

But since you asked:

Markov scored 33pts more than Kaberle, the Leafs outscored the Habs by 3 goals.

Kaberle missed a lot of time from injury.

Oh and BTW Kaberle has outscored Markov in playoffs.

Do you not grasp how humiliating this entire line of discussion has become. Leaf and Montreal fans bitterly argue about who is the tallest midget. The standard for the Leafs cannot be that Montreal is the poorer team. The standard has to be Pittsburgh or Washington or Flyers or Rangers. It is ludicrous to try and convince yourself that you are okay because the other guy is so pathetic. Bizarre!

I agree. That's not what this is about. Maybe reread the posts??

Hes better on offense, but Ian White is a lot better than Markov defensively.

enough?

5 times over a career... not too bad IMO. Markov is top5 in the league. Nuff said.

But, of course, that is what it is about. Because we cannot face the pathetic ineptitude of the Burke experiment we seek other comparisons in order to avoid having to face the mess the Leafs now find themselves to be.

Guys I'd take over him right now without thinking about it:

Weber, Shea
Pronger, Chris
Chara, Zdeno
Lidstrom, Nicklas
Bouwmeester, Jay
Regher, Robyn (if you're talking defensively, no ones better)

Given enough time that list could be expanded too, Not top5.

Don't listen to jeffyjones, he's a complete tool. Markov isn't top 5, but he is top 10 IMO.

I agree with your first 5 guys, but if we're talking overall (defensively + offensively) he isn't a top 6 defenseman in the league.

Decent list but wrong. Bouwmeester isn't there yet. Regher isn't top5 material, never been and never will.

Are you serious? LOL

Zdeno Chara
Nik Lidstrom
Scott Niedermeyer
Chris Pronger
Mike Green
Dan Boyle
Duncan Keith
Sergei Gonchar

All these players I would much rather have than Markov.. Il agree Id prefer Markov over Bouwmeester though.

And Yes, Ian White is much better defensively than Markov.

I thought he was included in his list so I copied/pasted and added the first names quickly haha, but I would go back and add Weber.

Green isn't strong enough defensively, I'd put him right underneath Markov. His age boosts him though if you consider that... I'd take Bouwmeester over Markov..

I believe the Leafs will win tonight. I think this is a very important game and everyone in the organization knows it is a must win. However, if they do lose, I would expect that some changes will be made in the composition of the team or behind the bench.

One team playing great hockey vs. another team playing horrible hockey. Not a great scenario for a Leaf's team looking to end a brutal start. Anything can happen but I don't love their chances.

First in the conference VS the worst in the conference.

I would not be betting on a win for your team. The Rangers have a great goaltender, and once they get a lead, its very hard for a team that is struggling offensively to come back.
