go look at kessels last 10 games including tonight.

2 points in his last 10 AND A MINUS 9.

16-Dec-09 Tor Phx 1 0 1 -1
18-Dec-09 Tor Buf 0 0 0 -2
19-Dec-09 Tor Bos 0 0 0 0
21-Dec-09 Tor Buf 0 0 0 -1
23-Dec-09 Tor NYI 0 0 0 -2
26-Dec-09 Tor Mtl 0 0 0 0
27-Dec-09 Tor Pit 0 0 0 -1
30-Dec-09 Tor Edm 1 0 1 0
02-Jan-10 Tor Cgy 0 0 0 -2
05 Jan-10 Tor Fla 0 0 0 0

then you have the nerve to say that he is better than penner because PENNER is sliding???? do you not see how dumb you look?

edit: who's mathematically challenged now?

- gretzky

You've just confirmed it (again). You really are stupid. At the time it was said, it was BEFORE tonight's game, wasn't it? Why don't you follow this?

And it's not Penner is sliding. He's been playing at the same pace he's carried the rest of his career, since November. How is this so hard to understand for you? I never compared him to Kessel. You started that.

And quite frankly, it's laughable that you're trying to justify a 50 to 60 point lazy bum's production, by comparing it to a 21 year old kid's production, fresh off shoulder surgery.

So, to answer your question, YOU are. Either that, or you just can't read. Or understand anything.

when i said kessels stats it was AFTER the game. just admit that kessel is no better than penner. their career goals per season is very close and penner is owning kessel this year. current production>last years production. kessel is younger and that is the only thing he has on penner

Very stupid argument. Kessel is 22, the same age Penner was when he finally cracked the NHL putting up 7 points in 19 games. You are comparing the careers of two vastly different players with one of them, Kessel, having obviously superior talent.

Their career goals per season in close, I'm sure. That's really lovely. But you're including years when Kessel was 18 and 19 years old. A boy playing with men.

And while I'd still say Kessel is quite a bit better right now, for many reasons, even if you want to think he isn't, one of them has room to grow, the other is 27 or 28, is in his prime, and will be on the downside of his career in a year or two.

If you're going to compare Penner to a Leaf, stick with Ponikarovski. They're similar players in style, skill, scoring, and level of play. It's just that Penner gets paid twice as much, and is older.

Which shows that he has been on a good team. Nothing more. Francois Beauchemin had the most icetime in the playoffs on a Stanley Cup winning team. Can I assume you think he's better than Markov by your statement?

C'mon. What exactly does that prove? Penner was lucky to be on the best team in hockey is all it proves.

That still makes no sense. You're still ignoring the other 22 players on the roster. Penner has a cup, Rick Nash does not. Is Penner better than Nash?

being a leaf fan isnt agony, but listening to all the haters on here sure is. it seems being a leaf hater is a way worse existance than being a leaf fan, some of the people on here have severe issues with the toronto maple leafs and it is scary.

i dont know what the language barrier is like for you but are basically saying no two players can be compared as havin the same style of play if one has a cup ring and the other doesnt.

Read again.

All I'm saying is if I have the choice between two similar players in style, skill, scoring, and level of play and only one of the two has a Cup ring, I'd take the one who has won it all before over the other one who has not.

Well age is also a factor, and it is a much better factor then a cup ring even if style, skill, scoring and level of play are all equal. Your argument fails. Anyone would take Kessel over Penner and you'd have to be dumber then Milbury to argue otherwise.

Yeah, yeah. Let's blame the coach for Penner showing up out-of-shape and sucking.
