Back somewhere on this thread a long time ago and far, far away somebody recommended that site and I have gone to it every day since. I love the site. If it was Doppleganger who made the recommendation to me I am deeply grateful. It has some great information, even including some stuff I used to calculate by hand for myself

I may have pointed the way for you...........but it was Itlan who pointed the way to me March 17 @ 1:27 AM ET last year when he created this thread (below) it has been bumped a few times since.

One of the best threads ever in this forum.

I go to the site every morning and am amazed by the wealth of data and how powerful the trend lines for the teams moving up and down.

I have saved the other sites and will explore them over the next while, thanks again.

Sportsclubstats.com has upgraded the Leafs from ,000 in making playoffs to .001. On a percentage bases that is a monster of an improvement.

No, but I must admit that I am pleased that Burke is trying to do something by better managing around dollars and existing players without giving away picks.

It is an infinite improvement.

See how I did that.

Poor choice of words. Ever heard of the phrase "you walked right into it" ?

No I knew what I said. I am rather bitter over the trading of picks and never thought any should have been traded going all the way back to the Owen Nolen deal.

Do you not think that the new look Leafs have a great chance for redemption Saturday night? There is a buzz about the trades and if you combine that with the Senators win streak there are many angles to consider. If the Leafs can close down the Senators on Saturday, it will not make up for the misery of this year, but there will be some joy for Leaf fans in bringing the Senators back down to earth.

that's true, but the fact of the matter is that the Leafs are a team thats playing better and better. Saying they're on pace for 60 points isn't fully representative of the facts

It's looking pretty close to being right on the money, with 21 games to go, and sitting at 49 points, and only winning .402% of the points in their games so far to date.

Leafs have improved their team(not that yesterday's game represents that) recently, and have a history of picking up their game near the end of the season. Add on to that other teams tanking for the 1st overall, and a fairly easy schedule, Leafs will probably still end up over 60

with so many teams still within striking distance of the playoffs, I doubt very much there are any teams that will roll over and let the leafs, or any team, walk away with two points. The leafs may catch the Hurricanes, and that might be the only team they can catch.

I honestly see the leafs finishing no higher than 28th overall (most likely 29th).

Even if they could some how finish a spot or two higher, Boston gets a good pick.

Worst case scenario for the leafs...............they win the lottery and move (their pick traded to Boston) into the number one draft position.

the only team 'tanking' is the oilers. carolina is like 8-2-0 in their last 10 or something close anyway.
