Take a wild guess.

How would Bruins fans feel if the picks turned into busts and Kessel became a star? Stupid questions..

- daeth

I think you fail to grasp the core issue. Even if Kessel does turn out to be a star and a scoring machine, let's say better than Kovalchuck is it possible for the Leafs to become serious contenders on the basis of one good deal. This is not about Kessel. Obviously we all hope he turns out to be a star. It is more about long term building of a really good team like a Chicago or any of the other young teams that have done it the right way.

The 'Monster' is ill for the 2nd time. Toskala is Toskala. Komisarek is costing the Leafs 2 goals every night. Blake is almost done. Grabovski is a puck hog. "Now picking 1st overall ... the Boston Bruins."

I don't understand why there was not more opposition to dealing the two first round picks?

because Kessel is already better than either of those picks is likely to ever be, and is still really young.

kessel is better than a top 5 pick, a top 10 pick, and a 2nd rd pick?

id take the top 5, the top 10, and the 2nd if im a rebuilding team.

and yes, one of your picks will be top 5... maybe even both. sorry to say.

I was one of the first people to say they hated the trade after it happened. You're preaching to the wrong guy

My point in that post was simply why even ask a stupid question like that. Obviously Leafs fans would be pissed off if the picks turned into #1 overall selections. Why even ask that? That's like asking how you'd feel if you got hit by a car. Stupid question.

Socrates believed the question was always more important than the question. In terms of your language, is it be possible that their are no stupid questions? Perhaps, only stupid answers?

From Wikapedia

"The term Socratic questioning is used to describe a kind of questioning in which an original question is responded to as though it were an answer. This in turn forces the first questioner to reformulate a new question in light of the progress of the discourse."

on paper they have the 10th best offense from last season and a much improved defense.

on paper, this is near a playoff team, on ice, not so much, not yet at least... but it's early in the season, and it's clear the players aren't used to each other yet.

Only problem is his question was asked with the intention of getting under the skin of Leafs fans. There was nothing philosophical about that.

I think his position was that 'the question is more important than the answer', not the question is more important than the question.
