No because the Senators and Canadiens agreed years ago to allow each others games in their respective markets, and by doing so end up sharing the same region.

It's NOT "whatever reason"

To think that another NHL team is still in another's region is just ludicrous.

Each team can bring in more revenue from advertisers, when they can bring more eyeballs to their broadcasts.

There are Canadiens fans in Eastern Ontario, and Senator fans in Western Quebec......so it's been a win win for over twenty years.

The leafs were offered the same deal, but decided to protect their market, and the NHL then decided to reduce the leafs region (prior to the Senators returning to the NHL in 1992 93) and gave Ottawa the Eastern Ontario region.

Since then there has been NO MORE regional leaf games allowed East of Belleville.

I've been listening leaf fans whining for over twenty years about how they can no longer see leafs regional games, or can't receive leafsTV in the Ottawa Senators region..........and the only way to see all leaf game is to buy NHL CI.

What part of this don't you understand? Please explain to me why you can't recieve a Canadiens REGIONAL game onSportsnet East in toronto, BUT I can in Ottawa?

Do I need to paint a freaking picture for ALL you leaf fans with such a low intelligence level?

If you and your dough head buddies don't get this after the below information, then there is little left to do.

http://www.milehighhockey...sions-by-tv-coverage-zone

Ottawa and Montreal share a market but are broadcast on different channels. Edmonton and Calgary are both show primarily on Rogers' Sportsnet West.

CLICK ON MAP TO ENLARGE

here's more proof that ALL you leaf fans can try and NOT understand

http://blog.fagstein.com/...egional-schedule-2014-15/

Montreal Canadiens

TV broadcast region: Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario east of Belleville/Pembroke.

The Canadiens see the biggest change in terms of rights because RDS is no longer the only game in town. It used to carry all Habs games nationally, but in the Rogers deal it lost the national rights to TVA Sports. It managed to get the exclusive on regional rights, but that will mean the network is blacked out west of Belleville/Pembroke, Ont. during those games.

It’s also noteworthy that what constitutes a national game varies by language (other teams below also see this issue). There are 32 40 national games in English but only 22 in French. Those extra 18 games carried nationally by Sportsnet, Sportsnet 360 and City will be regional on RDS in French.

Once again I have to pound a hundred nails into the thick heads of a few cement heads to make a simple point.

Who decides on the boundaries on that map? You're saying the nhl isn't responsible for making those boundaries? Because I've posted numerous times that they have (and you've posted link from rds that says the league is responsible for making those boudaries and they must comply with them)

It's hilarious that you think a map proves you're point, fact is this map you've posted further reinforces what you've been arguing AGAINST. Congratulations for once again posting a link that ends up proving yourself wrong.

I assume both sides are kind of right. The NHL obviously determines it otherwise teams would take massive areas while others would be very small. You need someone in charge to regulate it. With the dual zones I assume the teams would make some kind of deal with league approval because it doesn't make sense for the league to make some teams share zones but not others.

You're absolutely correct.

You also prove that Habs fans are way smarter than the leaf fans who inhabit this thread.

Why would I state that I can, in Eastern Ontario, receive all 82 Habs games, if it were not true??

I've clearly proven that I can watch all 82 Habs games , and have since 1992-93 when the broadcasting deal Between the Habs and Sens essentially combined their two regions (mandated by the NHL) into one by allowing each others Regional games into each others region.

The leafs were approached by the Sens with similar deal, but they did not want their market exposed to the Senators regional games in fear that they might lose market share or something, so they refused????

And as a result, for the past 20 years plus NO Senator or Habs regional games can be seen in the leafs NHL mandated "region".

This, has been my point from the beginning. None of these leaf fans can prove it otherwise.

On the other had I've provided the links to prove I'm right, and have been ever since I made my original point, way back on Thursday @ 8:36 AM ET

The leafs did NOT want Ottawa to re-join the NHL and bring with it, it's Stanley Cup winning history.

The leafs wanted ALL of Ontario broadcast rights, but it was NOT within their power to block the Ottawa expansion bid, only Hamilton's.

The leafs have blocked Senator midweek broadcast's into the GTA and Southern Ontario for over twenty years now, in fear of losing market share to the better team.

That is the PROOF, dough head.

People in Eastern Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes are Hockey fans, and can enjoy the Senators and Canadiens regional games.

The leafs owners, since 1992-93 have decides their customers are leaf fans, not hockey fans, and have done everything to stop ALL out of market regional games from being made available in the leafs mandated broadcast region.

How does that prove there was an offer and it was refused by the Leafs?? How?

Is there a link anywhere to a news article stating this??

There is no proof of what you are saying.

But yet I havent provided any proof otherwise, except to say:

The NHL has prevented its teams from selling their TV rights outside of the local markets since 1985 according to Rick Westhead.

http://www.cbssports.com/...e-case-heard-after-ruling

and then there's this quote from RDS (from your own post):

You reside in a market outside of this geographic area If you are receiving a message that the games are not available

These game black-outs are an NHL requirement which we must comply with and the black-out applies to all TV service providers in your market .

This is evidence. Proof. Facts. They do not support what you are saying.

No. Because the NHL, by request of the Ottawa senators, disallowed the broadcasting of leafs games in the senators region, knowing that they would never be able to compete for the English speaking Ontario audience. To this day, they even choose to play weekend games in the afternoon, to avoid competing with the nationally televised leaf games.
