I'm going to go the other way and say the sooner everyone starts settling on one language the better it will be for humanity. It's clearly the logical way to proceed. Since English is already the international language for air traffic and trade, let's move on.

Even though I speak quite a bit of french, I will never use it again unless I just really need to communicate with Asp.

I don't see how variety and intelligence are connected and to me it's pretty stupid to cling to something as arbitrary as a language or even a heritage. If people had an ounce of sense they'd not be proud of having a specific one of either. Waste of time!

I think people who cling to these things start all wars. On the other hand people who can't also enjoy those things in a non-clingy way bore me to death.
