It's possible but it's more likely they'll trade Boucher than to bury him in the minors. Although the later the Season goes, the better the chances that they'll have to waive, and if he clears, demote Boucher. As teams get their roster set. The latest I heard, and I don't know how factual it is, is that Turco is still looking for a long term deal. I wouldn't sign Turco to anything more than a 1 year deal. Take it or leave it. - MJL

But if they spend the full $2.4, or close to it, they have no cap flexibility down the road. I highly doubt they go after a goaltender, unless they intend to move another higher-priced roster player. - marooninja
1 year deal much??? |

Why? We will be doing the same bargain shopping next year. If it brings down his cap hit request then I'm for signing him to 2 years...no more then that. $2M per year. |

All possible, but I'm inclined to say these are best case scenarios. Except Carter, if he puts it together I bet he could hit fifty. If he puts it together, which is likely considering it's a philadelphia player in a contract year. - BulliesPhan87
It's so true and so funny
Carter will rip it up and score 50 and people will complain "Great he's f'ing the cap up, what an ass" |

His trade value (or playing value for future year if they decide to keep him) would be through the roof, it would be exciting to watch, it would help the Flyers to get a good PO position. Seems like a win to me. Here's to 50. |

I wish Macarthur's arbitrator was my arbitrator. $2.4 million?
That is just foolish, no wonder the NHL is f'd up. |

Biron?
I personally think we should try to go after JSG this season. Trade carter and Hartnell and the cap will work! |

I had that same idea before the free agency started. Not gonna happen at this point. But we will again be faced with moving out a big contract or two next summer.....and the fans are not going to be happy..... |

Timonen is going to retire after this year and play at home for the club he owns.
hunch, nothing more. |

I've had the same thought.
If management thinks the same, all the recent defensive acquisitions make more sense.
