He doesn't suck.
This is like arguing religon with you guys...
I say i want him traded... and you all act like i crucified jesus...
I only want him out because of his upcoming UFA and for what he brings to the table IN MY OPINION isn't worth that kind of money.
We lost Knuble and his goals... no big deal.. we lose lupul and his goals.. no big deal...
If we lose Carter and his goals, someone else will make them up.
I think that the only way to really know if we'd miss him is if he was traded. To sit here and say oh we'll miss that.. and we'll miss this.. is speculation. Nothing more.
The Carter lovers are acting like Liberals.. my crap smells terrible.. and your's don't stink... you're right.. and everyone else is wrong.. no room for compromise until you've converted everyone to your beliefs. - Nopointshot
Carter is going to be part of the foundation of this club for years. Next year, Kimmo or Briere will be moved to sign Giroux and Leino or Zherdev (possibly both). Mezzy is a very important piece of the puzzle. He has to perform like he did in Ottawa to make Kimmo expendable. People want to dwell that Mezzy was signed to improve the third pairing, which is true. However, the reason Homer traded an asset was to attain a top pairing defenseman.

If Meszy plays like he did in Ottawa then Homer made one hell of a trade.
I'd be thrilled if he played so well Timonen wasn't a Flyer next season.
playoffs are when it counts leino was a monster carter was invisible - NJFlyersFan
Leino did bring it during the playoffs. This gives him a legitimate shot to prove he is a top 6 forward. However, the Flyers won't deal Carter because of him in my opinion. If anything, they eventually move Briere and move Giroux back to center. Unfortuantely, there have been examples of players having a great playoff run and then not so much after that. Not saying, this is what will happen to Leino. The guy has some real skill and could go down as one of the great Flyer trades of all time.
