I'll re-phrase. Who do you realistically think is going to be the better player next year? I'll take either an educated or uneducated guess since you just made it clear you can't see into the future. - Duran76
Well is Carter a garantee to lead the team in points? I don't think he is, I think we have a number of players who are more then capable of leading this team in points starting with Danny Briere and Mike Richards. As talented as Giroux is, I think Leino is more then capable of making a strong impact for this team because of his age and maturity, plus experiences in other leagues. Ville Leino is more then capable of being a top line player, so again, I don't know. |

Briere is the best player in hockey. NJFlyersfan's criteria says so.
- MBFlyerfan
Briere was a treat to watch in the playoffs
It would be great to see some of that this coming season as well.
The Flyers should have 3 solid scoring line. I wonder what the other two lines will be to start the season assuming the Hartnell/Briere/Leino starts together.
My best guess
JVR/Carter/Zherdev
Carcillo/Richards/Giroux |

Briere goes down in history as the 2nd best player of all time next to Gretzky based on his performance in the SCF. |

Watching the goals the Flyers scored you almost have to wonder how.
The first 3 goals they scored were all bizarre. - Buts16
it was meant to be, butsy.
i still cannot believe we didn't win it all. it seemed fated to happen.

here's a question, I'm not sure there is an answer right now. How good is Johan "Bob" Backlund? Automatically, you would say Theodore or Turco is better. I'm not so sure the Flyers feel that way. |

What is your favorite color? Blue...no yellow. That's why I called it a guess. I agree that Leino is capable of being a top line player, and I am a fan of his, but I wouldn't dump Carter to keep him.[/img] |

regardless of the combos, i get the sense these guys are chomping at the bit to get going again. Briere, Leino and Hartnell all had rebirths so to speak in the playoffs and i bet they are dying to show it wasnt a fluke.
Carter and Richards likely feel they have a lot to prove after the finals performance.
I just really hope they come out firing and take the regular season seriously. And i think they will this time.
Let's be that machine, so come playoff time we have that killer mentality. |

It started feeling that way.
Injuries are part of the playoffs for every team, I would love to have seen what would have happened with a healthy Carter and Gagne.

For Giroux to become a top playmaker in this league, I would think he'd have to play with the top sniper for his team. Then I find that Richards is normally the guy to play with newbie's. Plus I'm a big believer in one playmaker per line, with one sniper per line.

Well, Gretzky had the fortune to play with All Star players like Messier and Kurri. Besides Leino, everyone else Briere played with was a goon/scrub. |

Looks like he's be giving more minutes etc his year.
Time for JVR to take the next step. I want that bugger to start driving the net more. |

By his logic, Greg Lewis is the greatest Eagles WR of all time because he caught a TD in the Super Bowl |

That's how I would like to rock as well.
I'm not sure if you can look at many other teams and see 3 more dangerous lines on paper. Which is amazing considering Gagne was traded.
Homer sure looks to have built a solid team, funny how he still has people calling for his head.
I understand the Gagne trade was weak but you cant argue with the depth in both the forwards and the D. |

Who cares what he did prior to that? It only matters how good you are in the SB. |
