More and more I'm getting convinced that the bears are merely just tolerating human existence and all are biding their time and waiting to become the supreme land species once again. It'll be planet of the bears, not apes.

Man, the Dallas Zoo need to get their sh¡t together. Someone stole two monkeys. I almost wonder if the clouded leopard incident was a test run. They did say they thought it was intentional.

The Auburn study may be redneck (hillbilly is a different part of the country), but farm-raised catfish and farm-raised gator is delish. Maybe you just don't know how to cook them, or the good places to go get 'em. But if you want something completely different:

3 months ago a dog got loose from a dog park and ran into nearby woods by my house. the owners were deadbeats who wanted nothing to do with trying to get him back.
we went by the woods every few days to where we thought he was hanging out and put some food out for him. this went on for weeks.
the woods are part of some protected nature reserve that the city owns so they have park rangers type guys who helped us out a bit by putting out a cage, and trail cameras to try and catch him.
the park ranger dudes said that after a few days the dog started hanging out with a group of foxes, and that they were spotted hanging out almost every day of those 3-4 weeks that the dog was out in the woods.

anyway after all the efforts of us trying to coax him into the cage with food and everything, the dog just walked up to some lady walking her dog and she was able to put him in her car. a rescue organization took him in and we just heard he got adopted 2 weeks ago.

The owners should have to hang out with foxes and try and survive for a month too. Plus they'd have to listen to the bumhole foxes scream all night long while trying to sleep.

Sounds fair to me.

Davion Irvin also said he loves animals and that if he's released from jail, he would steal more, the documents said.

My old beagle mix was left to fend for himself in the woods before I adopted him. AFAIK he didn't form a pack with other canines (wild or domestic), but what got him out and rescued was those woods being turned into development and him being so hungry that he got accustomed to being fed by the construction crews for about a month before the rescue people caught him. He was also malnourished, but not that bad. At least he was almost his normal weight when I got him... just had some gut worms that still needed to be cleared up and his fur hadn't completely grown back (fur loss was part of the malnourishment).

It's amazing how loved changed him from being scared of everyone and everything to being the perfect companion. While I gave him another name, I wound-up always calling him Buddy instead because he instantly became everybody's friend-for-life. He never met anyone he'd hate, except maybe for whoever abandoned him (hopefully he forgot them completely instead of carrying a grudge).

EDIT: Forgot to add that Marley & Me resonates because Baxter (Buddy) was a destroyer of all inanimate things when he was young... was about 6 months when rescued/adopted and took him about another 1.5 years to grow-out of that destructive phase. He cost quite a lot for a "freebie" rescue but I wouldn't have changed it if I could go back in time and do so (though I might have used a crate when I had to leave him on his own at that young age).

Harriet is still missing after another week, but now people are trying to leave food for the father and eaglets, which is illegal. Despite this, M15 is still feeding the eaglets on his own:
