Star Trek TNG is the last thing Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek-wise before he died. The entire thing went downhill after TNG.

Yeah they just did that for the $$$. Star Trek still puts Gene's name in the credits too. I still don't think he would like it.

Incidentally, some of Earth: Final Conflict was watchable even though I doubt it's exactly what Gene had in mind when he wrote it.
