You guys are retards talking about that. Stop complaining about other universities and just feel happy and lucky that you had the chance to attend higher education.
- koarik91

you have to understand that prock hates EVERYTHING Ottawa related. He started the Season bashing the Senators as a team that would finish "miles and miles" behind toronto, and when that wasn't happening (as the season progressed) he started to focus on individual players and trades, and when those arguments couldn't hold any water, the turned on Senators fans, and questioned their collective intelligence and posted a link he thought would prove this point, that rated the best High schools in the Province. he posted this link as his evidence

http://www.ourkids.net/bl...gh-school-rankings-10020/

Well when I pointed out that HIS list of High schools, actually had 3 Ottawa region High schools in the top seven.
Three of the top seven are right here in Ottawa or the Region.

He was forced to move on to Universities, where again his insistence that toronto had the better post secondary teaching institutions, I posted a list that had only one toronto area University listed in the top ten.

Of course he had to make claim that the Ottawa based Universities are "mocked" by other University students, from other Universities, so that became his evidence. Oh and of course as the ultra troll that he is, he tried to make it personal and attack me, my friends and family.

Not really. the University of Ottawa isn't too bad. Middle of the road. It's just Carleton that is a laughingstock.

MacLean's rankings have been widely criticized in the past. I've attended universities that get major attention from MacLean's, and universities that get none, and I find they're not an authoritative gauge of quality institutions. I've heard Carleton has a decent journalism program, haven't heard about much else. Personally, I find Ottawa (the city) a little too sterile for my liking.

It's pretty boring there, yeah. You won't hear too many good things about Carleton outside of their journalism program. It always had a reputation of taking anyone, and hence, many students would apply there "in case they didn't get in somewhere good". Kind of like a last chance thing. It's historically been a joke, for the most part.

Never said differently. I don't know a pile about it though. I'm much more familiar with Ontario schools, and some European and American schools.

I was almost gonna go to that game, but I didn't get back in town in time. Carleton is a dominant program over the last ten years, I've seen them win 4 of their championships, and they always have great teams.

They're pretty consistently near the top of the Canadian rankings, aren't they? Alberta, Western, Saskatchewan, UQTR, and Lakehead seem to be the perennial good teams. McGill is up there too, pretty often.

No, it was Maclean's rankings. He was trying to post that to show that Carleton was highly ranked, and the Toronto schools didn't make the list. LOL. First, York is based out of Toronto. Second, Macleans classified the schools according to the programs they offered. So, the fact that UofT offers so many masters and PHD programs means they were on a different list. He failed to realize that. LOL.

Obviously, in terms of Ontario schools, UofT makes Carleton look like a high school. It has a fair amount of international recognition. As does Queens, Western, to a lesser extent, Laurier. Waterloo for their tech related programs.

My sister in law went to Osgood.
My bro went to Guelph vet school.
Those are two boring facts.
