I'd do that, but I have a feeling you'll get complaints from Oiler fans.

Counter-offer:
#7 and Schenn for #2 and Pitlick. I'd do that, but I have a feeling i'll get complaints from Leafs fans.

I would think you want to wait until the last day to see where things stand. If the Leafs hold #5 they should be able to do the deals so they can make sure they get the player they want (I like Filip Forsberg). Once you get in the top five you know you are going to get a very good player. At last year's draft the top picks went more than ten deep. If the Leafs trade players they should be looking to gain more first and second round picks.

This is a really hard draft to read, mostly because it seems to alternate between forwards and centres for several picks at a time. If you aren't top 3, the next projected place to draft a forward is probably 7 or 8.

There were a few taken in the 6 to 10 range that aren't that great. And then a few outside the top 10, like Ryan Murphy, Oleksiak, and Bartschi, that I can see joining the top 5 guys there. Bartschi is insanely good. Best offensive player in the WHL right now, I think quite easily. If he hadn't missed so many games.....

Because of my Ottawa roots I am cross biased in thinking Shane Prince may have been the best pick after the top 10. His numbers are really strong. Inside reports suggest that Hamilton is going to be a huge talent at both ends.

Bartschi is having an amazing year. He is 9th in WHL scoring but has missed a bunch of games playng only 44. His ppg ratio is a stunning 1.97. Prince has also missed games playing in 50. His ppg ratio is very good at 1.60. He is 5th in OHL scoring. If you were to adjust the ppg ratio to reflect the higher scoring in the WHL (0.238 ppg) Bartschi still has the higher ratio.

This could go on for a while. I wouldn't mind some sort of 2-7 swap. Although with the way Montreal is playing I think it could be a 3-7 swap in the end.

Toronto and Edmonton pretty much have to make a trade. It makes way too much sense. Retarded offensive depth vs retarded defensive depth. Stupid Burke and his grudges.

Might be a 2-3 swap based on how Toronto has been playing lately

If it would bring us closer to helping each franchise out Burkie and KLowe should just fight in the barn already

I just dont see the value they got in their "Rebuild".. for him. Just never been a fan of Turris... Joe Corvo agrees

Whether you or dppplleginger think DR is good or not, he is a highly rated prospect

- senstroll

He was a MINUS 11 in 24 games in Ottawa, and was a healthy scratch 9 times to boot.

He played two games for the Coyotes, and then was a healthy scratch for another dozen before being sent to the minors where he's a MINUS 10 in 15 games, with six goals.

You can "rate" him as high as you wish, but his actions (on the ice) have spoken much more loudly than anything else.

He was never going to help Ottawa this season, and Murray filled a hole in the line up this season, and Turris plays a great two way game, is a PLUS 9, with 17 points in 32 games.

You cannot argue the fact that once Ottawa had two balanced lines (1 and 2) the team has rocketed up the standings since the December 17th trade, when they had the ELEVENTH best record in the East, and today they have the SIXTH best record in the East.

I like Turris a lot. He plays a very responsible game. Ottawa has improved tremendously since the day he became a regular in the line up. He is going to be a very good player for a very long time.

None of that matters at this point, rookies struggle, it takes time. DR needs to learn the the game here. We know this, the point is the time invested would be worth it, much Like Karlsson.. He was sent down to the minors in his first season too.

Thanks for reiterating my point, it was a move to win this season. I just think it is a smarter move long term to stand pat, keep your valuable assets, build a stranger team long term. Turris had a great start with the sens as a lot of players do when they join a new team. You can quote his plus minus (players tend to have decent ones when the team is winning) and his two way game, but those are things people use when you have no answer for the crap offensive stats. He was brought in to be a top 6 scoring center not a two way checking center

I went on record before the season started that Ottawa should deal Rundblad for no other reason than the duplication of his game with Karlsson. I thought they should try and do a deal with the Oil for one of their prized forwards. So far, I like the deal for Turris. I have been burned too many times second guessing Murray. The Senators seem to have a very strong scouting staff.

It's like having more hammers in your tool box but no screwdrivers.

Ottawa traded, from the position of strength (too many hammers) and received a much needed screwdriver, to have a more complete set of tools in which to build a more competitive team.

It's a shame the best you could get is a plastic screwdriver for that carbon fibre hammer (along with the gift certificate for another tool).
