"(After the Cup, linemate Tyler Seguin) and I went on a bit of a tear, partying pretty much every night for a while," Marchand told Sports Illustrated. "I went home and kinda continued it. I thought (winning a championship) was something that might never happen, so I was trying to take it all in, enjoy it.... My dad sat me down and sorta gave me a lashing. He told me if we win two of the next three years, he'd leave me alone."

exactly. to get a guy to sign before free agency you gotta give him something to make it worth his while.

The question being are we happy with the D roster as it stands for next year? Kinda locked in for the same corps again. Well, we'll see about the kid I reckon.

As far as overpayment, I'm done questioning the GM on this type of apparent generosity, been wrong too many times. Looch, Bergy, TT, others, even Z's entire term all seemed a bit high to me and I was dead wrong.

Well, it did win a CUP ...

I'd like to see Corvo replaced and his $ spent on a more defensively-reliable defenseman ... Other than that, I'm content. Give Hamilton another year in Junior.

Sure did. And I'm not complaining about the group either, tho it's late and I did have a brain lock about not having FJC next year. Still as always feel a little more talent back there would be great. Not easily done.

No, but with Savard's LTI exemption and Corvo's $ off the books, it should free up enough to sign someone who is somewhat decent. A wise Chiarelli might "audition" Corvo's potential replacement with a deal before the deadline and a close watch to determine "worthiness" for the rest of the stretch, although I think prices may be a bit too unrealistic at the moment.

Yep, that seems his MO. Problem is the one time he really rolled the bones and went for big talent he got a (frank)ing K-car. Hope he's not too jumpy about getting a score if the chance presents itself.

Just feel with the great job he's done of getting solid solid monsters back there he can afford to get some mad skill. Again, not easily done and I don't expect it -- as I once did.

hopefully he learned from the Kaberle deal and not get (frank)ed in a deal....at best it seems just minor adjustments can be done...unless there could be a blockbuster, but I dont think so...

Some players have left from last year but basically same team as last year...I would use the $ to go after a UFA but knowing that some other contracts are coming up in next 2-3 years....not easy job....

Can't argue with the result.....just love how sombody else got a NTC out of Harvard(even limited)

Am I happy with the D.....only if we get an upgrade over Corvo.

Z, Nazi, Wolf, Captain Planet(who has remained healthy for probably his longest stretch as a B), and Johnny B who may be the weakest of the group.....If we could just turn Corvo's into something worth a sh!t this year knowing that Dougie may be on his way next year.....yeah, I like out D
