i am not a fan of a pick for being able to speak to someone
we just won the cup..and we also didn't have to do that poop to get savard or chara here

if he wants to sign in buffalo for stupid money, let him
just because the crop this year is thin doesn't mean you have to overpay for the decent players that are out there

- Toad in Nj

Yeah, the whole pick for negotiation rights thing seems somewhat new ... I have a feeling Ehrhoff will wait it out until Friday. If so, we should pursue him IMO. He'd be 10X better than Raymond back there. He's a good player and we are a good, cup-winning team. Can't imagine he'd not want to be a part of what we have going forward, especially since he had to endure it through the finals

And apparently nobody loves Raymond ... Ehrhoff traded twice already and no bites on Kaberle ... Wonder why?

CUT BAIT.

Wasn't Ehrhoff playing hurt during the finals?

Let Seidenberg show him the way ...

If true, shows he's not going for the $ ala Phil, but wants to play on a good team ... Which is why I don't think the Slugs have a chance either ...

"Ryder to be free…

You can expect Bruins sniper Michael Ryder to be a free agent on Friday. He saw his minutes decline in Boston once veteran Mark Recchi was brought on board. He showed in the playoffs what he’s capable of doing as he can still find the back of the net. I’m wouldn’t completely rule out a return to Boston but Florida may take a hard look as well. His point per minute ratio is rather impressive."

expendable in the big picture considering he probably wants another 3 year deal. His offense should be picked up by Marchand, Seguin, Caron ect.

Read somewhere today the B's might not spend to the cap because Krejci, Rask and a few other are up next year. Not a bad idea. They can still spend at the deadline then and cut the pickup players free before next July 1st.

Even adding an elite defenceman long-term keeps them well under the cap to deal with next season's re-signings .... Right now, they're only 4 mil above the cap floor in salary. Savvy is likely done, so there's 4 more million ... We've got upwards of 16+ million right now. Plenty of room to sign Marchand, Ehrhoff or Wiz, and still have more than enough to deal with the contracts that expire at the end of next season ...

Sitting pretty cap-wise ...

As clutch as Ryder can be in the playoffs, it's time to set him free. He likely wants a payday ...

He and Rex open up a spot for one of the kids ...

With Peverley in he just doesn't fit anymore. If we're gonna take on another forward, it's gotta be a stud ala Doan,(extremely unlikely) or a gritty SOB, ala Asham, (unlikely). No Leinos or Ryders required at the moment. Who knows tho, maybe they view 19 or Caron or others in the org as NRFPT.

I'd honestly rather have Mr. Bean at a more reasonable price than Erhoff if that's what it boils down to. Provided they can get the (frank)er into the gym -- I think that's his biggest issue. Talent just doesn't disappear at his age.

Talent?

I saw a guy who just couldn't play on a winning team. He was (frank)ing puzzled. He was used to losing and it showed. Whether or not he will ever be a winner remains to be seen, but from what we all saw in the playoffs, there is absolutely no reason to resign the guy for the money he's looking for. He's got a lot of stones to think he's worth over 2 million ....

Chiarelli should deal his rights and Ryder's for whatever the (frank) he can get ....

I'm pickin up what you're putting down.

I'd just personally would rather try to get Kaberle at a decent rate if we can, if someone else doesn't offer him big $ and term, than give Erhoff 4+ for a few years.

As awful as Kaberle was....and he was, he still managed to get some decnt points on the board......which shows that offensive stats don't mean everything since our PP was garbage and he didn't have a hit in the first 2 rounds.

Enjoy your cup. See you at the reunion game where a lack of hitting is expected. You were a rental and you were the worst player on a cup winner. Goodbye.

Oh good ... Stefan Chaput is back

I like PC's approach this year, don't be stupid, don't get into a pissing match, just tweak, see what shakes out and try to find some steals via UFA or trade once everything shakes out.

Yeah (frank) that ...

I was hoping for 4-5 years at 4.5-ish... But 10 yrs???? Buffalo can have that sh!t.

Wiz the only UFA guy left I'm even remotely interested in... But he'll likely be overpaid or offered a 30 year deal by somebody as well.

Kampfer our new stud pmd?

Better him than Raymond I guess ... Although I'd hope Chiarelli is working the trade front ...

At those prices, I hope so.

God, Yandle must expect a 15 year 150million at this point

There are so many crappy GM's in this game right now. Screwing up a salary cap for a future GM while trying to save their asses today
