The Bruins have added skilled offensive defenseman Torey Krug from Michigan State to the prospect mix. The Spartans Captain was recently named Player of the Year and Best Offensive Defenseman in the CCHA.

The Boston Bruins continued their work on adding organizational depth, reportedly agreeing to terms with Michigan State University standout offensive defenseman Torey Krug.
The junior from Livonia, Michigan is a Hobey Baker finalist and scored 12 goals, 34 points in 38 games with the Spartans this season.
Krug, 21, is an explosive skater who is both fast and agile. Although undersized at a listed 5-foot-9, 175 pounds, he is extremely smart with excellent on-ice vision and offensive instincts. He moves well laterally on the point and has the skill to score with a big shot or effectively distribute the puck in space.
The former USHL star with the Indiana Ice is expected to join the Providence Bruins where he will finish the 2011-12 season before his three-year entry-level contract kicks in for 2012-13.
Trotman scored a goal last night in his first game as a P-Bruin too ... Didn't see the game, but off to a solid start!
Florek was a 5th round pick of ours, I believe ... He looked MUCH better than that. Did everything right in the game Friday night that I watched ...
I think Trotman was the last pick in the 2010 draft ... But I may be wrong. It appears too that this guy may have potential. I'll report back when I see a game.
I know nothing about Krug, other than that he's the 3rd guy from Michigan State to be joining the P-Bruins in as many days ...

interesting
BTW.......I'm watching game 6 on my DVR right now
almost forgot how key Peverly was in that game......and that Vancouver got a diving call in the first 3 minutes
And get this: He's reporting to Boston for the remainder of the season, not Providence ... Weird - Tweak
Wow .... that's crazy. Wonder if it's a contract status thing? Real surprised he's not Providence bound and that he'd be considered an NHL option over guys like Warsofsky and Button who've put in the time. I assume he's probably unlikely to see any time, but still.

I don't know either ... But I get the feeling Chiarelli really covets this guy for some reason ... College is one thing, but being a small defenseman in the NHL is an entirely different ballgame.
Never seen the kid play, so I'll reserve judgment until then ... But on paper, the odds seem pretty stacked against him.
