Connelly to Toronto, that is (frank)ing priceless.

Now that it's done, Richards doesn't do a lot for me, Rags can have him. He needs talent around him, not going to elevate average guys.

Caps: Let me get this straight -- Swap out an at-best average starting goalie for an above-average one at 1.5 mil AND get a 1st and a 2nd to boot?? WTF??

Best switcheroo in the cap era by a (frank)ing mile.

Totally ...

From what I read, Varlamov was KHL bound before the trade since a deal couldn't be reached with the Caps ...

Another horrible trade from the Avs ... Something we've become accustomed to in the last year.

Beauty of a deal by the Caps ...

Time for teams who got shot down to add some pieces.

Islanders?

BTW, I was laughing my ass off when Ek said that Connoly was a nice replacement for losing out on Richards.....and then the Laughs did just that.

This crop is so thin.

The guy has sick skills, but he's made of paper. That PhiL/ConoLLy combo should be fun to play against.

The corners will be wide open for us, and you know 2 of the forwards won't be hitting anybody.

Add in the big holes Phaneuf openis up to make an illadvised hit and this should be fun.

I hope Reimer's good year ws a one shot deal.

Any idea where Samsonov will end up?

hmm..

my "sources" are telling me.

The Caps? Toronto? Dallas? Detroit? Isles?

When the Bruins Cave opens up, I think we shoul d have a magic 8 ball figure out where UFA's are going.

Chiarelli didn't divulge any names besides Kaberle, but did admit that the Bruins are in discussions with several free-agent defensemen.

"Well, they're defensemen, that's who we're talking to right now," Chiarelli said. "And so their roles would obviously be defenseman, without giving too much away. ... One is Tomas Kaberle, and there's a couple others."

McCabe on short years and short money would suffice alongside boychuk or wolf as a left shot on 2nd PP as well.

McCabe for 1 year, tops ... Just for the shot.

Him and Chara on the PP would make guys think twice about blocking shots ...

I'd rather McCabe than anyone else who is left ... Kampfer not too far behind the curve here...

Don't care either way, really ... All the "big fish" have been reeled in and overpaid (minus Richards, IMO), and given decade-long contracts.

(frank) that.

Proceed with caution, Chiarelli. No stupidity.

McCabe for shot money, short term, and limited ice time....OK.

Rather have him than Kaberle.

What about Arnott up front in Ryders/Recchi's spot?
