point is, any potential missing pieces on this team don't need to filled in julylet's see where we stand in nov/dec before overpaying someone now when it's potentially not even needed
for the $$ and term, the only one i would have wanted is souray - Toad in Nj
I slightly disagree.....I don't think they need to be filled July 1st. But, like with Vokoun, you've identified a target who can help you, and they can't come to terms with another team a bit into the signing period, I say you do it.
As cup champs, I thought we'd have a few guys chasing a cup pulling a Vokoun with us and sign here for less money.

I agree that they've lost a couple clutch vets and that needs to be acknowledged, maybe not adding that piece right now though. The puzzling thing to me about pouliot is that we have Caron who is NHL ready that projects to have the same upside. Not against the signing per se but he's more gamble then proven. Would like to see some consideration for a clutch leader with some grit up front. It's cheaper in July for these guys without having to give up assets during the year in a trade, but then you also take away the development time for a young guy. They need to focus on power play and scoring, which gets them to the playoffs. If they were going to sign a forward and committ it might have been a leader type not a guy that needs leading is my thought

Pouliot is low risk, high reward at that price.
I'm not in love with getting a Hab either, but it might pan out. Would like an upgrade on D, aside from Raymond, without moving any pieces on our backend. Need a little help on the pp and some depth.
I'm surprised at how much I'm missing Ryder, to tell you the truth.

From WEEI blog today:
According to a source familiar with the situation, free agent defenseman Tomas Kaberle remains in contact with the Bruins and is also talking to multiple other teams, but it isn’t likely that he’ll be signing with anyone in the immediate future.
The source told WEEI.com on Monday that Kaberle is “not likely to make a decision until sometime next week.”
