I think there is enough leadership and character to keep the team mentality together without Rex. Bergeron, Thornton, Ference and Chara won't let a dippoop like Pouliot ruin the room. They are both marginal players on this team and shouldn't be to the forefront to dictate anything besides being passaengers on the ride. - Cape Breton Bruins
Yes, agreed. I'd more expect jackasses to find direction than established guys letting any punks set the tone. If they're sh!tbirds then the door is a year, or less, away.
Anyone else concerned that bringing in guys like Pouilot and Corvo is changing the character of the team for the worse?
For (frank)s sake ... Pouilot is a piece of poop and Corvo is a wifebeater.
WTF is going on here? What's next, trade for Carcillo? - JEFF SPICOLI
Heatly to be the designated driver?
Patrick Kane to show us how to tip a cab driver?
O'Byrne to critique ladies purses?
Lets sign coach MacTavish while we're at it.
Am I concerned about the character? Sure......We'll, I hope we have enough guys who have been there and won the cup that we now have a lockerroom full of them. We used to want to trade for "a guy who won a cup"....now, we have about 20 of them.

the sweet thing for me was u guys took out the Habs the year u did it
I hate the Habs..it didn't do my life much good watching them in the 70's grr - French-Connection
yep...bruins lost a lot of games tothem....but at least there wasnt douchebags on the team then...you hated them, but respected them...Habs of last 5-10 years are a different story...

A lot of similarities between Dougie Hamilton and Alexander Khokhlachev to Joe Thornton and Sergei Samsonov 14 years ago.

Thornton and Hamilton play different positions, but similar in terms of size and potential. Sammy and Koko similar forwards style, substance

As long as Hamilton has a soul ... I like the sound of that

Take it back. Hate to be a hab hating nerd here but mid-late 70s is the start of the Habs douche era IMO. Still respect the talent then but douche patches start to emerge, which did not exist at the time of the dynasties of the 50s and 60s.
Tremblay - Closer to being Clod Lemieux douche than Lapierre douche but douche nonetheless
Gainey - Yellow-belly sap sucking douche
Riseborough - Rat wannabe douche
Lupien - More goofy than douche, still qualifies
Larouche - Did not mind him but even Habs eventually thought he was a douche.
Maybe I'm just romanticizing a different era but to me when Jean Beliveau retired he basically retired the Hab respect era of Plante, the Richards, Moore, Harvey, Johnson, Geoffrion, Bouchard, etc. Fontinato and Bonin were more sh!t disturbers/fighters than douches. Sorta like Leo Labine for The B's, Brad Marchand's ancestor. The doucheness has been everpresent in Mtl since the 80s and growing for the past three decades. This ain't just a 5-10 year thing.
Roy, Muller, Odeleine, Dipietro, Nilan, Chelios, Lemieux, Corson, O'Byrne, Lapierre, Homosarek, McCleary.....@s$ho1es.....every single one of them. And some of those names go back to the 80's
Go flip over a burning cop car while wearing a Koivu jersey....but those aren't the "real" hockey fans blah blah blah!!!
