I wouldn't mind Richards but not at what he's gonna command. Tho that line-up looks sick.

Lotsa options, Baldy looking smarter by the minute.

Seguin works on not getting knocked on his ass by a stiff breeze this summer.

Sure does, and is possible .... Just (frank)s us upon closer inspection of who we're going to have to re-sign in the next couple years. Richards wants years, and that gums up the works after next season.

Would rather give Pitkanen the multi-year contract.... Even though I think it's asking a lot of UTE to shoulder the #1 center role permanently.

Would explore moving Boychuk and one of Paille/Kelly as well....

give the KIDS a CHANCE to make the team in training camp/preseason

- Toad in Nj

Sounds like that's Chiarelli's plan ... Which is good. Would not be at all surprised if Spooner stuck out of camp ...

PC needs to up the batting average in the drafting department ... Seguin was a layup. There's potential this year to draft another "project" in the 1st round ... (frank) that.

Yes he did ... Very quietly.

Would have never guessed it, but he did. Amazing after the start the first line got off to...

Credit where credit is due. The UTE came through when it mattered. Everybody did, even Cloooooode.

Couldn't be more proud of our team this season ...

agreed
and as with all winning teams different guys stepped up at different times
we don't get out of the first round without kelly...etc etc..

No "stars" on this team ... Every single person on that roster contributed with timely plays.

Next couple weeks will be interesting in regard to roster moves, draft, etc. Hope Chiarelli doesn't change too much.

Priorities:

- Draft smartly (no 1st round "projects")
- Re-sign Marchand
- Let Raymond walk and sign Pitkanen

Tons of money left after that to tinker around ... Maybe sign a vet to replace Recchi (Brewer perhaps?). Maybe contemplate Ryder at the right $ if he's open to it ... If not, let him walk and promote from within ... We've got guys who are ready.

Rammer chose to leave ... Which was fine given the offer he received. But he chose his path.

Stu would have been happy here for his whole career ... Of all seasons to get dealt ...

Poor guy ...

Available UFAs: D Shane Hnidy, D Tomas Kaberle, F Kirk MacDonald, F Mark Recchi, F Jeremy Reich, F Michael Ryder, G Nolan Schaefer, F Wyatt Smith, F Trent Whitfield

Available RFAs: D Andrew Bodnarchuk, F Stefan Chaput, G Matt Dalton, F Zach Hamill, G Anton Khudobin, F David Laliberte, F Brad Marchand, D Zach McKelvie, F Juraj Simek, D Boris Valabik, D Cody Wild

only ones that really stand out as a must re-sign are Khudobin and Marchand.
Hamill worth it and Valabik with a full training camp and healthy might be a good thing. Don't know much about others. Ryder and Raymond prob won't be back. Youth and better options on D. Make Marchands deal heavy in year one to offset later years when others are resigning as the cap is high next year.

If UFA's get too crazy, I hope PC goes hard after Brent Burns via trade. Seems like he'd be a real good fit and supposedly he's available.

Glad to see Gordon get another gig, I was hoping he would be brought up to Boston before he went to NYI ... I hope his teams keep sucking though

Ramsay will find another gig pretty quick I think, would love it if he came back, but doubt that's in the cards.

I like Burns too, but I'd rather see him spend the cap dough than trade away more picks and prospects or who knows what.

It's a good idea tho -- what would you give?

Not sure what Minny might be looking for. I'd consider guys like Kampfer, Sauve, Caron even, plus picks.

I'd prefer UFA too, however given that there really isn't much out there in the market this year, prices are going to get stupid. Guys like Pitkanen, Ehrhoff, Wis are going to get big $ and quite frankly I don't think they're worth it.

Yep - both are CHL bound next year if they don't break camp.

If Gagne winds up on the UFA market he might be a good add to replace Old Balls. Marchand - Bergy - Gagne

I think he needs some size and weight. Unfortunately he is ready for the A but not old enough. No need to rush him along to play a checking line role. Skill wise he was way ahead the limited time I saw him. Caron, Sauve and Armiel and maybe Hamill in line to play with B's.

I think his raw skill might get him there ... He's my dark horse next season

We've got lots of fringe guys ... Wouldn't be surprised to see some of them traded in the upcoming year. Arniel is the perfect example ... He reminds me of Nate Thompson, but our 4th line is already jammed up.

Hamill, Caron, Sauve ... These guys are on the clock as well...

Agreed. Lots of bottom 6 forwards and bottom 2-3 d pairings too. Cohen, Bartowski, Vlabalik and Kampfer being the best prospect
