Is he one of our prior draft picks? Nothing was mentioned.
If not, how does that work out if he's 18? Does he become our property? - bruinsbeer69
He wasn't drafted by anyone, nor is he under contract by any NHL team.
He was invited to training camp, and if he impresses, will likely be offered a contract by Chiarelli.
Right now, he's "no strings attached" ... If he sucks, he's cut and goes back to Junior without a contract. If he shows promise, he still likely goes back to Junior, but probably under contract with the B's.
Zero-risk maneuver here ... Nothing to lose, but potential to pick up a guy who may be a late bloomer (even though he's only 18) .... Since he was passed over in the draft, he can sign with anyone. Could be another solid poaching by Chiarelli in the works if this kid impresses ....

They either enter the draft for the first time at a later age, or they enter the draft again (after not being drafted the first go-around, and not being offered a pro contract)

honest to (frank) . his parents are (frank)ing loaded too. what a Richard. sign the deal (frank) o.
he is bringing the cup here on monday, ill let him know....again haha - Cape Breton Bruins
I've got a feeling his agent (Wade Arnott) is advising Marchand to hold out for a better deal, in the hope that Chiarelli caves since he has the cap space... Just my theory. Arnott is a banana eater, and I wouldn't put something like this past him. ...

I'm not all that concerned about it, I've always expected he'll be in camp and until it drags on past that I'm fine with it. Like Toad says, its not like he has a tonne of options.
Side note: You ever played any Egnater gear? I've got an Orange Dual Terror that I'm not super happy with and am looking at the Egnater Tweaker as an alternative.
