The Boston Bruins released seven players from their training camp, according to GM Peter Chiarelli.

Zach Hamill and Trent Whitfield will be placed on waivers for assignment to the Providence Bruins. Jamie Arniel, Colby Cohen, Michael Hutchinson, Zach McKelvie, and David Warsofsky will also be assigned to Providence.

The Bruins, who beat the Canadiens, 2-1, in a preseason game Monday night, had Tuesday off and will resume practice on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the TD Garden.

If we lose him, I'm sure there will be a player similar to him that another team is trying to sneak down that we might be able to grab.

"Caron has had the best camp of any of the team’s young hopefuls. He started Monday’s game on the No. 3 line, but by the end had moved up to the top trio with Seguin and Krejci.

“I thought he deserved it, but also I wanted to see him up on the higher line and see how he would adapt,” Julien said. “I thought he did a great job.”

Julien also had kind words for 21-year-old Max Sauve, who has come on strong recently and looks like a guy who could be an early recall from Providence. With the AHL club last season, his first pro campaign, the skillful 6-footer had 21 goals and 17 assists in 61 games.

“Max continues to show his speed when he’s got the puck,” Julien said. “I like the way he competed a little harder (Monday) than he did (Sunday in Halifax). So that’s showing improvement.”

I just looked at the line combinations on the Herald website.....and I got angry when I saw Pouliot on the 3rd line. He's not a Bruin in my eyes.

Hell, I'd rather have Doroty or old timer Clark in that spot.....or let Arniel or Suave have it

Think its 24 hours, so this afternoon sometime? Don't quote me on it though

Edit: Mckenzie says all players on waivers yesterday cleared. Sounds like Skywalker made it. Interested to see how he does, obviously his value isn't very high on the market right now.

so if they bring him up he has to stay with the big club for the rest of the year or has to clear waivers again to go back down and that's a bit more risky. he's making a good paycheck, they've spent over 3mm for 2 NHL games. its put up time dorothy

He has to clear again if he's called up as well, I believe ...

I would think this is the case, don't know if he's subject to re-entry (50%) waivers or not. He's kind of a goofy case because he's got this weird 4 year ELC.

its all good, deserved. the current trend in boston says they'll win series next year

girardi that cocksmoker was throwing the games.

sox were toast anyway. too many injuries and no confidence in pitching.

go brewers or diamondbacks?

throwing games my ass
zero need or responsibility to start quality guys last night when setting the rotation for friday's playoffs
they were up 7-0 last night

i'm betting most yankees wanted the sox to make it, the rays are a far better team with far better pitching at this point

It came down to rays guy hitting a 2 strike meatball over the fence and papeldouche throwing a 2 strike meatball.

Tigers going to win that series anyhow. Your liver just gets an extra week of work.

huh ...

You'd think Sauve and MacDermid would be in, seeing as they are still competing for a job. My guess is they both get reassigned after the game tonight ...

...... Moving right along....
I finally just got around to watching the Bruins Stanley Cup Champions dvd and I noticed something that bodes well for our team.
Tuuuuuuuukkkkaaaaa appears to not be such a headcase anymore. All through the year he seemed to be well pissed off. Most backups from what I have witnessed anyways tend to rush the starter after a win, congradulate him etc. Aka be the team cheerleader.
Rask tended not to do that..... Until I watched the dvd. There are multiple clips of Tuukka screaming his a$$ off motivating the team. Basically going insane on the bench. My point is if that trend continues we without a doubt will have the best goaltender tandem period. A happy Tuukka is scary good. If Timmy falters, teams will have to deal with Tuukka and he is better then a lot of starters in the league.

P.S. I want Thornton to destroy Cookie every chance he gets.
Savy still needs to be avenged.
