Just got home from the P-Bruins game ... Sat in the same seats I owned season tickets for 6 years ago
P-Bruins had no business winning this game... They played like crap most of the time. Untimely line changes and all around uninspired play. They are a hot mess.
Hamill made himself stand out by hogging the puck whenever he got it ... Bartkowski was terrible and seems to have this weird nervous twitch while watching the play ... Not sure if anyone else has picked up on this? Arniel was average. Our D overall is highly overrated ... Pray we don't have injuries in Boston because by in large the Providence blueliners are career AHL'ers at best.
To the positives .... Khudobin is the real deal. If he had any sort of D in front of him he'd be leading the league in save %. Guy truly is the Russian Thomas... Never gives up on a play and comes up huge against the odds. MacDermid is the other guy who stands out to me as being NHL talent (and NHL ready, for that matter). Tough as nails and smart with the puck. A definite Thornton-esque player...
Heading to the game Sunday as well ... Will report what I see then ..... - JEFF SPICOLI

Took my dad to the game, so no strip club report Heading to the game tomorrow with a buddy, so who knows what will happen ...
Yeah the D in Providence ... No real "prospects". Hamilton I'd imagine will be in Boston next season. He is killing it right now in the "O". Cross I don't put too much stock into ... Kid is one knee-on-knee away from retirement.
Sauve injured apparently ... Guess that's why I didn't notice him last night

Caron sent to Providence. Probably the right call for him. Needs to get his game on track.

Being a fan sucks ... I just paid far too much money a year in advance for pre-season tickets against the Jets in Saskatoon. $105 per for (frank)ing pre-season tix |

Interesting. This is the first I've heard about this, exploring a potential road trip now. Sad thing is, $105 for a top ticket is not a horrible deal, relatively speaking, though I hear ya, a brown one for a pre-season game still seems like too much cash. It does suck to be a fan some times, no doubt there. A similar seat for a regular season game would be twice that. Thanks for the heads-up on this. |

Atta boy! I just found out recently too, glad they'll be so close, but its definitely a pricey ticket for what it is. Price of only getting one or two events like this in the province per year though, I saw tix in secondary market for the pre-season game last year (Lightning/Flames maybe? can't remember) for a fair premium on face value, so I'm glad I caught wind and was able to get them from ticketmaster.

I paid a hundo for that preseason game in Halifax this tear. But they were ten rows up right on the blueline. Worth it IMO. |

P-Bruins game yesterday:
Very flat start for the P-B's yesterday afternoon ... Team looked tired, and played like it for most of the game.
Hamill - Best forward yesterday. Although still somewhat selfish with the puck (this approach isn't working at the AHL level, so forget about it in the NHL), he potted 2 nice goals, each one game-tying goals at the time.
Arniel - Easily our 2nd best forward last night. Nothing flashy, just good, smart, consistent play.
Khudobin - Made some high-quality saves. 2nd goal he'd like to have back (he dove for the puck, was caught out of position for an easy wrap-around goal) but other than that he played a good game.
Ridderwall - I like this kid ... Hard worker and seems to create a lot of chances.
Camper - See above
McKelvie - Seemed to spend a lot of time on his ass last night. Either an "equipment problem", or he had a bad night. Same for the rest of the D though ...
Caron - One of the biggest presences on the ice at the AHL level. Seemed to have more confidence in his game.
Bartkowski - Lazy play. Did not impress at all yesterday. Seemed to blend right in with the rest of the D.
Good: Team never gave up, and always fought their way back in when they were down. Goaltending was also a positive, as was Hamill's overall play and production.
Bad: The D just plain isn't very good ... The slow starts and sloppy play have hindered the P-B's as of late. Seems they're always playing from behind. MacD's absence seemed to completely wipe out any "mean" the team may have played with. Powerplay was non-esistent.
... This team is a far cry from the squads that Gordon and Laviolette used to coach here. Worlds of difference in play. If Hamill is our best prospect on the farm (which it appears that he is), we are in trouble and best start negotiating new contracts with our UFA's. Would be a mistake to let those guys walk after this season, IMO.
