Some of the Mensa's over at HF Boards claiming that Pouliot and Caron are better options than Clark because Clark is too much like Campbell, Paille, and Peverley
One dumbass cited that Clark is unnecessary since we already have Whitfield in the minors

Whitfield.
When Pouliot and Caron combined do half of what Clark has done then let us know right? He'd be a good vet to have. Not a world-beater at this stage but hey...
I remember a game I went to where he got a hattie on us in a period I think. '06 or 7 musta been. He was their captain then.
Pouliot experiment over. No harm done. BUH BYE. |

Ok ... A bit late, but was at the PBruins game last night and a few observations:
- Khudobin made some spectacular saves last night, particularly early on. Once again, he was left out to dry most of the night by the inept D, but he delivered a Thomas-like performance and kept them in it. Had Hutch been between the pipes, easily 5-0 Manchester after the 1st.
- The P-Bruins' D: 1 word, HORRIBLE. They turn the puck over way too much and get beat way too often. They are very undersized, with the exception of Cohen aka Hal Gill 2.0, who wouldn't throw a hit if you paid him. Virtually no physicality from the D ...
- My first glimpse of Sauve in Prov this season ... He's decent. Looked a tad rusty, but was definitely a standout along with Hamill. The two of them are by-far the best offensive threats that the P-Bruins have. Both have the ability to make something happen out of nothing.
- Clark's debut: Ummmm, he played? Yeah that's not the beer talking, but he was invisible. As my father put it, "Yeah, Clark wasn't noticible at all ... At least Bartkowski turned the puck over a couple times"
- P-Bruins were dominant in the circle all night, but couldn't make anything happen.
Overall, a pretty sloppy game by the baby B's. Lots of turnovers, missed passes, giveaway's, all the things that make you want to scream. Play seemed uninspired and without purpose, much as it looked under Murray's regime. Best action and "play with purpose" happened in the last minute when they yanked Borat to try to even it up. Nothing even close to that at any other point during the game. Defense, overall, is scary. Pray nobody gets hurt in Boston.
On a side note, one of the linesmen #18, Bob Paquette, a portly fellow, was eating candy all night and throwing the crumbled wrappers into the crowd
Also, Johnson (Manchester) is a dirty SOB ... Was throwing punches at MacDonald while he was down on the ice and tied up by a linesman. |

the way i look at this is we would be giving up 2 young proven guys (Rask/Krejci) for 1 (Nash)...Nash is top end talent, but I think him and DK had same amount of points...Nash had more goals....Brassard and Caron are throw ins...hate giving up 1rst round picks; even late ones....
not sure what Nash contract is...DK pretty good contract.... |

krejci is due for a new one, minimum $5mil for 4 years
rask, how long will he stay the good soldier sitting and sitting
nash...now, i have been the biggest krejci guy here since day 1....krejci will never be nash, ever..not a fair comparison because they are different players..but..
brassard was great as a rookie, had shoulder surgery and hasn't been the same since..but..columbus has sucked
so, is he wheeler part II or does he need to get out of a poopty situation?
i don't watch columbus enough to have a valid opinion
nash is $7.8 until 2018... |

If he's injured now, then Harvard will pull the trigger on this one
That seems like a lot going that way, even with Nash being a franchise player. |

Good brain-teaser. Tough to know about Brassard, don't see them enough. Nearly 8mil is an awful lot for one guy too, even if it's Nash. I'd have to say no but if I saw Brassard more and that 1st was a third...
Almost the same deal goin out as what I said last week. I did mine with a mind toward:
A) Getting a premier blue line offensive talent who isn't a jackass
B) A potential top power forward who at worst won't completely suck
C) GREAT value/cap hit for all players coming in
D) Solid short-term backup goaldie

no thanks.
Nash is easily the best player in the deal but that contract can handcuff a team especially with the unknown finanical circumstances surrounding an upcoming CBA negotiation. |

DK is one tough player to evaluate, I'll say that.
Inconsistent offensively but who the (frank) in this league isn't? More Bergy-like than I like to give him credit for, a very smart player. I give him sh!t for nagging injuries but he does play through them and usually quite well. No problem whatsoever with his defensive game. I do not take trading him lightly and his loss at center would take us from C depth being a strong point to a weakness.
Almost seems unfair to give him 5+ and almost seems unfair not to.
It'd have to be real good. |

The other question is how good is Rask and how much does he get next year?
Gotta love his tude and he looks solid but how much better is he than the other 8 trillion young goalies who have been overrated and overburdened over the last decade? Tougher call than Kid DyNoMite. |
