Boston Bruins forward Daniel Paille will have facial surgery on Wednesday after taking a slap shot in the face during Monday's 6-2 win against the New York Islanders.
"Daniel Paille has been diagnosed with a broken nose and facial lacerations after the injury he sustained in our game Monday night," general manager Peter Chiarelli said in a statement on Tuesday. "He will undergo surgery on Wednesday, November 9 at Mass General Hospital in Boston to repair the injury. Dr. Thomas Dodson will conduct the procedure. Following the surgery, he is expected to be listed as day-to-day."
Paille took a third-period shot from Islanders defenseman Steve Staios in the face and remained down on the ice before leaving under his own power. He did not return. Much of the damage came from the puck hitting Paille's visor, then cutting his face and nose.
Hoping Danny a quick recovery...never had issue with him...good 4th line guy...good speed...good on PK....not great hands, but that is ok, opens up ice really well...

ouch.... - busher
looke like he got shot when the camera focused on his visor.
Day to day.....he's a god damn hockey player, player. If he played basesball he's he on the 60 day DL, would need therapy to talk about the awful experience, and would suck upon his return.

Hamill recalled. - Cape Breton Bruins
Hope he gets a fair shake ... Kid will bring more than Caron and Poo right out of the gate, for starters, guaranteed. He's looked really good in Providence

welp, at least you are open minded enough to change your mind on guys that you didn't like in the past - Toad in Nj

Never really disliked Hamill ... Was more baffled/disappointed with his lack of development, which isn't an issue anymore. He is by-far the best P-Bruin, and he's been since about the midway point of last season. He clearly beat Poo and Caron out in camp this season and still got hosed. He deserves a fair shake. Kid can create offense.
And Colborne, for the record, can still eat my bumhole. Guy was lazy as (frank) and useless while he was here, and he can't even crack the (frank)ing Laffs' lineup which is very telling. I don't care that he's tearing it up in the AHL ... So did Andy Hilbert.

Yup, let's see what the kid's got. Not like it's gonna stunt his growth and like ya said, he can't be markedly worse than the other two. Why not.

I don't think you were a fan..he didn't really give most any reason to be a fan for a few years..
Just an overall observation, Kelly, wanting Bergy gone, etc.
Being stubborn is not a bad thing, realizing when you were off is the mark of character

I literally just had my lunch ruined because I decided to read about that while eating. (frank)in guy should die. And Joe's good intentions have led him to hell.
What good intentions would those be, scoring more touchdowns?
I'm sick of these jock a$$ho1es who protect their program over anything else, especially something as serious as this. If this is all true, then every kid that was abused after he knew about his coach doing this is on his hands just as much as the rapist. It appears he could have done something to prevent this......bottom line, he didn't do the right thing and kids lives were ruined because of it. F him! And F those morons chanting his name.
God, if Bobby Orr would ever do something like this, I wouldn't stand behind him because he played for my team, I'd think he was garbage. There is seriously somthing wrong with people today and their situational morals.

i think he would have stayed in the show had he had the ability to go up and down without waivers. i think he doesn't have to do that this time because its an "emergency" recall. hopefully he shows something and at the very least if he doesn't stick he ups his trade value or (earmuffs toadie) gives them confidence to look at moving ute for some d talent or a big wing.

And they know they're the gateway to the pro careers these young players are striving towards. Perhaps a better developed junior program might help reduce the NCAA clout, but as it stands, it's near impossible to get into the NFL without a stop in the Div. 1A.

Unfortunately it is impossible for NFL as the age requirement for NFL draft is 20 yrs old and there is no in between. The contracts in NFL aren't guaranteed so only the top 4 rounds of players even stand a chance of getting one contract nevermind anything more.
Same with basketball. There are only 2 rounds of the NBA draft each year and almost all of these guys don't even make it onto the teams.
The only sports really effected are basketball and football, however these sports generate hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for the NCAA and the universities and the kids get what a "communications" degree if the actually stick around 4 years. which they don't.
The kids are treated like gods too. Which when they don't make anything of themselves they end up 24-year old guys with no degree and no brains or concept of reality.
