Besides Pitkanen, some FA's I'd consider. Depending on where PC wants to go with some of our forwards:

Fleischman
Montador
Handzus
Auld(never know)
Wisniewski
McCabe
Jovanoski
Asham
Huskins
Brewer
Bieksa
Erhoff
Laich

I'm sure there's more.
Take your swings.

because of the "floor" i think most of these guys if not all will get overpaid.
i'm not really into signing anyone big besides a second paring dman like pikanen.

have young forwards and some economical vets. next year Ute, Boychuk, Rask, Peverly, Wolf and a few others are up for contracts.

Sounds like Matt Gilroy is going to UFA. Might be a good depth/develop add, although I'm assuming he's probably not waiver eligible if he needs to be buried in Providence. With Kampfer here, he might be redundant.

hometown discount
surprised he stayed after the non stop trade rumors over the past few years
he should have stuck it to them and gone to detroit or sj

(frank) Jovonovski ....

I want Pitkanen but I have a weird feeling we're going to end up with Kaberle

OK, so assuming Savvy is done and Ryder is not re-signed, there is 1 roster spot open for a forward... Agree with Toad here, let the kids play. I've said before that I think Spooner could make the team out of camp, and Caron is ready as well. If Spooner goes back to juniors, let one of the other kids battle it out: Arniel, Hamill, MacDermid .... I'd rotate that kid in and out with Kelly and Paille.

Milan Lucic | David Krejci | Nathan Horton
Brad Marchand | Patrice Bergeron | Rich Peverley
Ryan Spooner | Chris Kelly | Tyler Seguin
Daniel Paille | Gregory Campbell | Shawn Thornton

Extra: Jordan Caron

As for D, we've also got 1 spot open, and hopefully it's not for Kaberle. I'd like to see:

Zdeno Chara | Dennis Seidenberg
Andrew Ference | Joni Pitkanen
Johnny Boychuk | Adam McQuaid

Extra: Kampfer

Goaltenders ... We're set.

Tim Thomas
Tuukka Rask

So really, we just need to get Marchand a new contract and sign a defenceman ... Ideally Pitkanen. Hopefully not Raymond.

Pretty chill offseason for PC ... Hopefully he works on the goaltending situation in Providence.

Also, not (frank)ing around too much and spending to the cap with longer term contracts allows us to keep the core intact when contracts expire at the end of next season ...

Would love to see Brad Richards in the Spoked B though

I would too but considering the pending bidding war he will get a term that would not be beneficial to our situation. We have so much talent and depth and they are almost all 26 and under, we won the cup with these guys lets keep them coming through the pipeline.

Wideman sucks.....bad. Would never want to see him in a Bruins jersey again. But at least he was a decent guy and teammate. Phil is a (frank)wad.
