Thanks. This was exactly the thought when the hit happened. Lucic just stood there waiting for a possible onslaught that never came. Myers and Gaustad were on the ice but shat their pants at the prospect, while Chara was carefully assessing the situation. Fear factor. And it does not end with Lucic, Chara and Thornton as indicated in the piece. Most B's can handle themselves quite well and opposing teams can't match that. Quaider, Ference, Campbell, Horton and Boychuck are a very good supporting cast while Seidenberg, Marchand, Pouliot, Peverley and Kelly can and will show up if need be. Cornered, Paille, Ute and Bergy will defend themselves/not be Sedined although the latter two will probably never again drop em to prevent injury. In any case, not many teams can back it up like the Bruins can and that edge is quite valuable indeed. Bruins hockey. - Stan The Man
All true.
To add, in spite of all the ninny talk about the B's being dirty, cheating neanderthal bullies, I've seen exactly ONE terrible/dangerous/dirty hit by a B in the last few years. (frank)ing ONE!!! Paille's.
There's been some shenanigans here and there -- this IS still the NHL last I checked after all. Some chippineness and bullying, sure. But we are near the top of the league in NOT being dirty and dangerous.

Would you guys trade Rask + for Carter? Call me a homer but I don't think I would. Carter is a high end goal scorer but he's also a tin man. Not sure about his commitment and hasn't really been a playoff performer on good Flyer teams.
Losing Rask would rob us of our fail safe if Timmy get injured, or starts a decline. He is almost 60 after all.

I just don't see Carter as a good Bruin, not a guy I'd want for a cornerstone player anyway. No.

(frank) no.
We trade Rask, we are significantly weaker between the pipes. If Thomas got hurt, we'd be (frank)ed. Khudobin is good, but I wouldn't want to be in a position where we're relying on him.
