WTF is up with the fine to Neal? That's a weird one.

It's a joke. Totally ridiculous.

I understand you want guys to be in control of their sticks, but that's ludicrous.

I personally don't see hardly anything in Patches' hit. And I was front of the line for punishing head shots.

Def not blind side, def not late, highly doubtful on any intent to me, and no lunge or anything like that. I mean, I guess he could've just got outta the way but the (frank)er had the puck.

No suspension necessary, just go after clear negligence please.

Its about the standard now though. Any hit to the head is subject to discipline. Doesn't have to be blind side anymore, although I disagree with you that this one isn't, looked at best completely lateral to me. I don't think he meant to take his head off, but I think by the new standard its an illegal hit.

it doesn't have to be dirty to be a suspendable hit
you can't prove intent, what you can prove is that he drilled him in the head

Ute + a 2nd and either knight/spooner/Caron for bobby Ryan?

What would it take?

Ya I suppose so, first point to the head. Just felt he didn't lunge or make a move towards the head at all, and another 5-10 degrees and they're going directly at each other. Lateness no factor at all. Those 3 things are what I look at. But rules are rules and hits to the head are absolutely bad news so I got no real beef with it. Illegal by the rules. And Max is a douche.

That seems pretty fair to me.

PC, to his credit, will back off any huge bidding war for him. (frank)er knows how to trade and probably has cold feet from the Kaberle deal, which to me was his big dice-roll and it didn't work out. Well...

I think if BR's on the market we'd have very very little chance of seeing him. Someone else will give more.

Iginla's future
There's been much debate already in Calgary this season about Jarome Iginla's future. It's a delicate situation. He's arguably the most popular player in franchise history, and the owners of the team adore him.

GM Jay Feaster needs Iginla to approve any trade given the players' no-movement clause and, just as importantly, needs his owners' blessing. And that's if Feaster himself decides it's the best route of action.

If and when Iginla decides he's finally ready for a change -- and on Tuesday he told Calgary media that he hasn't changed his stance on not wanting to be traded -- you can bet the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins will be among the teams sniffing that one out. The B's won't be alone, of course, but a source confirmed to ESPN.com Tuesday that the club would have some genuine interest in bringing Iginla on board should a trade possibility ever come to pass later in the season.

Iginla has one more season left on his deal, paying him $7 million.

i'm guessing it would take at least ute, boychuk, caron
no way i give them hamilton, not because it is a guarantee that the guy will be a star but because of us being thin on the back end
we have forwards to use as bait, not potential franchise dmen

Yeah, no (frank)in way on Hamilton.

Would take Ryan over Iginla

Definitely no on Hamilton. Ryan would be nice but would it be wise to blow up the team to get him?

I don't know, Ryan's a freakin force. I'd take it for DK and JB and a minimal something else. A perennial 30-goal winger locked at 5mil with 2 balls and no vagina.

I just don't see PC doing it. Think the bidding will get out of hand and he'll step out. He opted for Krejci over Kessel, I can't see him taking Ryan over Krejci ++.

Also we can't move D without bringing D back, we've got 0 depth there.

Now that's extreme.

But it does show why I'd do it for DK and Boychuk +. In this case, I'd live with the depth loss on D no problem.

...but yes, the bidding probably would get ludicrous if he were shopped (big if) and PC would not get fleeced.

Raymond a healthy scratch on Sunday night, then came back last night and gave the puck away for a juggler goal

As much as Corvo has had his hiccups, he's still better than both Raymond and Widamin
