We Simulated The NFL White Vs. Black Race Bowl On Madden So You Don’t Have To
Earlier this week, reader Dustin asked who would win between an all-white NFL All-Pro team and an all-black NFL All-Pro team. Mind you, this question was asked without ANY ROOTING INTEREST, and without any hint of RAYCESSNESS. Are we clear on that? Good. BECAUSE WE TOTALLY SIMULATED THAT RACE WAR ON MADDEN TO SEE WHO WOULD WIN.

Tim Thomas voted to All-Star team

Bruins goalie Tim Thomas was the top vote-getter at his position in the final NHL fan voting for the All-Star Game.
Fans chose the first six players for the game (three forwards, two defensemen, one goalie), which will be held Jan. 29 in Ottawa. The Senators had four players named -- Erik Karlsson, Daniel Alfredsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek -- and the Maple Leafs one, Dion Phaneuf.
The remaining players will be chosen by the NHL's hockey operations staff later this month.
"It was a tighter game than the score indicates," Thomas said. "If Bergeron doesn't get that fourth goal, it might have ended up differently. They had some sneaky chances on me, but it was nice that we scored a few more times to make it look easier."
Shawn Thornton, who scored the Bruins' last goal, said Bergeron is a difference maker.
"He's arguably the best two-way player in the game," said Thornton, who had a long fight with Cam Janssen in the opening minutes. "The things he does out there are amazing. He gives us such a boost the way he comes up with plays like that. If a team makes a mistake, he's always in the right place."

Happy for Timmy, looked like Reimer was going to be there for a while. Was hoping for Z over Phaneuf being in Ottawa and all, but I'm sure he'll be there anyways.

Another Norris caliber year....captain of the cup champs, in Ottawa....yeah, he will be.
I think Tuukka should be there too. Has that ever happened? 2 teammate goalies?
Barch suspended for remark, says NHL agreed that it wasn't racial
Barch's remark to Subban, sources told The Herald and Yahoo! Sports, was something along the lines of "Did you slip on a banana peel?" with added expletives.
In the aftermath, the Panthers said that it was a misunderstanding, and that Barch said something inappropriate that was not racial.
By Thursday the NHL agreed; Barch said that league executive Colin Campbell, who handled the matter in a morning disciplinary hearing, backed up the players' assertion that whatever was said wasn't racial—and based his judgment accordingly.
"If there was any question that this was racial, you'd be done five to 10 games, and (the decision) would be done the day after," Barch said, quoting Campbell.

The Gregory Campbell effect - JEFF SPICOLI
Seriously, that was the comment? From now on, bananas may not be mentioned anywhere, ever. I get the sensitivity, but that he got tossed for that when its a common phrase is ridiculous.

You're posting this on a webiste that banned a made up word about the Vancouver people because it sounded like the other made up word about the Montreal people.
I do believe, both are now available in the urban dictionary....thank you Spicoli.
And, yes, it's stupid.....now, if he called him an eggplant, I'd understand.
NEW YORK -- The NHL's planned division re-alignment has been blocked by the players' union.
The plan to change from six divisions to four conferences for next season had been approved pending consent from the NHL Players' Association.
But in a statement the league said the union would not allow the change to be made.
Instead the NHL will maintain its current alignment and playoff format for next season.
Deputy commissioner Bill Daly said the league was unable to address the union's unspecified concerns with the change.
Daly added the league would look at its legal options. - Toad in Nj
Fehr flexing his muscles. We're going to have another lockout. The historic fights between the union and league will look like playful snowball fights compared to what this guy has in mind. He won't be good for hockey
say what you want about fehr but the owners were idiots for moving forward with this without union approval
they know how fehr is and no way this was going to pass without them being part of the process
the union has been the laughing stock of the league for years now and the owners gave them the perfect opportunity to flex some muscle and to make themselves relevant
bad move by the league...now the union has an easy bargaining chip and nothing the old timers like jj can do about it
they tried to bully them and it was the wrong time and wrong leader to do it to
