I think Konopka is over-rated to an extent IMO.
But he is a heart and soul guy that this team could definitely use as a 12-13th forward, but thats all he is.
He is, imo, not better then a healthy Blair Betts. |

if toronto wanted a #1 center they could have always overpaid for richie or carter more than the other teams did - 2Real
Rumor was that they were in on Carter, with Kadri coming back, but wouldn't include Kulemin. |

That Jamie Benn kid is a stud. - stveshdy
Absolutely --- said when Neal was traded that Benn is the better player by far (and I like NEal and still think he'll get back on track next season). Benn was incredible, game in and game out down the stretch and was double shifting like crazy. |

To be fair the Q is known for the huge offensive numbers...
IDK if his offense will translate, but even if it doesn't a BIG shutdown 3rd line center isn't all that shabby. - Yosimar89
It sure as hell translated for Giroux |

Well, one thing about Laviolette that I don't like is that I don't think they should limit it primarily to 4 forwards. I think you should have atleast 3 forward pairings. I would expect Powe and Betts to remain a pair. And if they got someone like Laich, to be paired possibly with Giroux. Versteeg and Nodl could also be worked in. - MJL
Thats good depth right there....... |

Don't worry about Couturier. They'll give him a couple of years to grow. |

Good for former Flyer farmhand/Hershey Bear Don Biggs for having his kid go in the first round!
Still don't get trading up for him. |

Nodl is gonna be a heck of a player next year.. I see 20-20 potential and a lot of defensive responsibilites
SC will be back in the Q. |

betts is a good PK man, but his f/o suck because his shoulder will never be quite right...I'd move on if the cap space could allow it. |

It does give them a ton of options up front. I see no need to rush Couturier. But he could probably play in the NHL next year if needed. |

And is competitive defensively. But thats about it.
He is nowhere near as bad, but people that complain about Shelley aren't going to truly appreciate Konopka either. |

I thinkhomer did great by trading carts and richie. he got great value and got a heck of alot younger. I dunno how we got couturier but so far it seems like we got a great young line up. Also vorechek as well.. I think this suad is going to be young and dominate for a bit |

I watched that kid play a number of times and he plays so smooth out there and his offensive ability is off the charts. Theres nothing he cant do and at that young of age, is incredible. Now I know why they moved Neal, to give this kid more ice time. Plus I love Goligoski as well. |
