btw, hearing hradek and button ? CLB for giving up what amts to 2 high 1sts for Carter made me feel better...but 40 goals is 40 goals. I guess it's up to courts to make this thing look better. it will take yrs to sort it all out, but I'm still concerned that we are built to win a cup now from the blue line back, but w/ the forwards, not so much.

vorachek and breezy will make up some of the difference and then when couturier steps in you'll be like carter who? guy was a bum

He's done with Juniors... He played the Monarchs last year just 7 games and had 7 points.

It's Phantoms or Flyers, obviously hoping he earns the Flyers.

MUST...KEEEEEEEP...MIND... IN THE NOW... BUT, look at that goal at 00:27.

goal was nice i like the hit better around 35

It's either juniors or the flyers he can't go to the AHL till he is 20.

Possibly. He could be a 13th guy and rotate in and out, as well.
- Jsaquella

That's a possibility for sure. I wouldn't mind that. Put Sestito in when we are facing a tougher, meaner team, put Tommy in there.

I think Konopka is over-rated to an extent IMO.

But he is a heart and soul guy that this team could definitely use as a 12-13th forward, but thats all he is.

He is, imo, not better then a healthy Blair Betts.

- mochoson

It's debatable whether or not Konopka is even an NHL-caliber player. Would he crack the lineup on most playoff-bound clubs? I think not.

We don't need Konopka. Simmonds can fight, and so can Sestito.

Do you think Carter has the same kind of numbers playing in Columbus. Not with players' wives but on the ice.

Yeah, I looked at his age wrong, though he still had eligibility left in juniors.
- Jsaquella

let's ask this how is Couturier in shoot outs

They have the makings of two lines that should score. Whether Leino returns or not, you have Hartnell and Briere, then Giroux and JvR. Voracek might fit in there with G and JvR, or with Hartnell and Briere if they don't keep Ville.

The defensive side is a concern, although Schenn is considered a good two way player. They still have a bit of work to do.

Probably late, but heard on the radio that Carter met with Holmgren Monday or Tuesday to address the rumors and was assured he wouldn't be traded. There was more in a release from his agent but that was the main piece. Holmgren called him in to discuss it with him...........sucks for him I guess.....

why would the best "pure goalscorer" go 24th
- 2Real

Sleeper pick, but a stretch for sure to call him the best pure goal scorer.

Another guy I'd look at as an upgrade in 4th line center is Scott Nichol. Better on draws than Konopka last season, and tough as hell to play against.

I thought it was weird to see him compared to Thomas Vanek.......would've figured that type of talent would be a little higher.....
