No, because Larsson is the guy the Flyers would get out of it. Something else to keep in mind -- a hypothetic deal that would get Versteeg's money off the cap and also send the 8th pick elsewhere suddenly puts the Flyers in cap range to afford Brad Richards and also resign Leino while also moving up in the draft. - bmeltzer
Why would you move Richie + Carter under the assumption that Giroux's ready to run with the limelight and Briere's got his game going and.... then... sign Brad Richards? |

so you are saying the Flyers may get Landeskog/Larsson, Brad Richards and Ville Leino?
My mind has officially been blown. - tjp2033

Well, that would be contingent on 1) moving out about another $3 M of salary AND 2) moving up into the top 3 (no lower than top 4) of the draft but if they do that, then yes, it's quite plausible. - bmeltzer

I think Giroux would still be in the limelight......Richards to me would just be a hired gun............. |

Bill, is there ANY potential to see Gagne back in O&B? - jak521
Yes, especially if Leino isn't resigned (which still isn't a lock).

it's all up in the air. supposedly Colorado wants Huberdeau at #2 also. - bradleyc4
My wife's HUT team has Huberdeau. After that and watching him in the Memorial Cup, I would not mind seeing him in orange and black. |

we went from being stacked at center to me being already scared of having one injury to a center
i wouldn't mind having one more |

because you can.
By adding guys like JV, Schenn, and Simmonds, and having JvR and Giroux you dont have to worry about bigger contracts for a few years...
I am with you in skepticism. I dont see it happening, but again i wouldnt be shocked. Nothing, and i mean that 100% literally, will shock me at this point. |

Because the current lineup -- no matter how you spin it -- isn't Cup caliber. Add Brad Richards into the mix and 1) there's much less immediate pressure on Schenn and 2) you replace a bigger chunk of the lost offense.

But not to completely overpay for Brad Richards. That's nonsense.
Plenty of #2 and #3 center types to look at it instead. |

So they traded for one of the top if not the top forward prospect in Schenn
If they trade up they could get Larson, a top D prospect
And they can hold on to Bob, a good goalie prospect........I like it....... |

I would almost rather see Gagne at say 2.5-3 mill then Leino at 4. What kind of contract do you think Gagne could get? I know its a tough question to answer... sorry lol |
